Thread: more grind/nerfs/etc?

    more grind/nerfs/etc?

I like gw2, a lot. However, it seems that every single patch they nerf classes, don't fix/upgrade bad classes, and add more grind. It seems every month the stuff you could get is getting even harder to acquire. It started with the massive price hikes on racial gear and now we have dailies and laurels and such. Is it just me or have the devs lost sight of their initial goal?

It is getting a bit frustrating to me, at least.

Well classes are so unbalanced that some need to be nerfed. Like thiefs and mesmers.

It is a bit disappointing when you see other classes get nerfs and buffs but you're class remains the same. Rangers need work right now, imo. Pets especially need more features.

Although I'm no expert by any means on all things GW2, I do agree with this. Two things spring to mind: being able to control all their attacks; being able to name them all and for them to retain those names. Oh, and a better way of stopping them grabbing agro when told not to.

the Devs initial goal is " how can we keep making money to sustain or jobs and can we keep people playing for another day/month/year" so they introduce new things like the laurels that give you access to new optional items, but you'll need to work at getting over a semi-long period of time. making everything harder to get was done because [people complained "i've done everything in this game already/ its to easy", for now the grind is just to keep you bust while they release big events like the (holiday and flame and frost one's so far). and the RNG has existed since someone drew numbers on a cube. althought Anet have added to many drop option imo, scewing "good drops" which i'm defining as stuff I can equip (that isn't one of the default skin designs).
Did you achieve your/characters main goal /adventure?
Are you just playing to gain equipment or for the challenge?
All in all, why are you playing the game?
seems there are loads of attacks/complaints on the game, but if you'r not going to state how to improve it, you just crying over spilt milk.
as for the class issue, what is a thief, mesmer, ranger etc, in the gw2 world. does their skills reflect what they are meant to be capable of? what should they be able to do, what can they do that doesn't work for description?

I would also really like to see a permanent stow feature. Right now when you stow your pets they pop back out anytime you go into combat.

They also need to fix pet targeting in Fractals of the Mists during the final stage.

Pets need a major overhaul. I have a necro, and I specifically use the Conditions build and don't have any pet summoning abilities outside the original heal (which has been shelved). They just screw up all the time, as they are right now. They are also way too wimpy for what they are.

Well, my lynx is pretty good at damage dealing. Shame he's a paper tank. Would would be nice is if he retained his DPS but also got the tankiness awesomeness of the brown bear. But I guess that'd make 'em overpowered

nerf everything boost pets, I like it.

I think the nerfs on classes are coming more from the fact of the huge mobs that can form, the more people the more things die in 1 second. Also I think Anet wants us to use combos a little more.

Today I geared up my character in exotics by making them. Um... how do I put this? It was... unbelievable. It took 30 bolts of gossamer, 30 globs of ectoplasm, and 30 powerful venom sacs just to make the insignias needed to craft her armor. And that was just her armor. The jewelry required 25 ectoplasm and 25 ruby orbs. Oh, and a crapload of orichalcum ingots. Then there were the weapons. And I have been playing the game since beta, right? I had 2 ectoplasm left. They go for 40 silver a piece on the trading post. Do the math and you'll end up paying between 25-30 gold just for the ectoplasm needed to gear one character (that's not counting the T6 fine materials you'll need). And I have 7 characters who are all 80 and they need to be geared, too. Eventually. I guess. It boggles my mind how some people have said that getting exotics is cheap on the auction house. It is not. No matter how you slice it, you'll either grind for money, or grind for mats. And this is just gearing up in exotics. Forget legendary weapons, because I will never have one.
