Just got a character to level 80. And there doesn't seem much else to do. Can't even get more trait points. WTH.

There's plenty of things to do. Dungeons, WvW, sPVP, farming towards a legendary weapon, etc. Pretty much the standard things other games of this genre also have.
So, if you feel like there is nothing to do at lvl 80 then you have a problem with the genre, not this particular game.
Then there's four other character slots to try out, crafting, map completion, exploring every nook and cranny... getting a character to level eighty is just the start.
When you must walk, then walk
How many cities have you explored completely? (I'm often surprised how many level 80 people haven't even visited the other races' cities)
How much of the world have you explored?
How far are you progressing in your Personal Story?
How many dungeons have you explored? (Story Mode and Explorer Mode)
Have you checked PvP and WvWvW?
Have you gotten a Legendary Weapon?
Just a few questions to get you started for quite some time...
Of course you can't get more trait points Once you get to max lvl. What game lets you get more trait points after you reach max lvl? You can still earn Skill Points which you can use for Mystic Forge Mats and a few other things (besides unlocking any skills you haven't unlocked)
Actually, the Everquest games all have/had "Alternate Advancement" systems that were basically trait lines you kept earning points for after you reached the cap so you could continue to build on your character. Heck even ridiculously simplified version of EQ on the PS2, Everquest: Online Adventures, had a version of it called "Class Mastery." I'm sure there are some others out there, but the EQ ones are the only ones I've had much experience with.
