My vision of a "perfect" gw2

Yeah the laurels are kind of a joke for the cost of getting ascended items. Its 30 per peice I believe so for a single toon to get trinkets, thats 150 laurels for 2 rings 2 earrings and an amulet, and I forget can you get backpeice with laurels as well? I browsed the vendor but didn't pay much attention when I saw 30 per item. Right now I have 26 (I think maybe 27) so when I get 30 I guess I'll take another look at them.

But with 3 lvl 80 toons already and other classes I am lvling up to get the "best" on all my toons is going to be extremely time consuming. Now I know some will say you only need them for the toon you do FotM on. Not true, if you want to keep up with everyone else (in WvW stats do matter, because a boost in stats can help me overcome someone that is at equal skill with me or let me hold my own better against someone better) And since I play a different toon in WvW depending on my mood well to keep the best I've got a lot of work to do.

I really think there should be additional ways of getting laurels, like just getting one when you get one of the repeatable achivements. This gives you an additional way to earn them in your everyday game play, but not really a lot at one time, which is what I think they are trying to prevent people from doing by making dailies the source of them.

i am not on everyday. hense im not usually "Caught Up" on the daily. Your statement is correct, if I do them twice. Then I dont have to deal with them the next day. But after I complete them I usually dont do them a second time, I move on to dungeons or wvw, where, I do get some of the next days daily done.

There are a lot of people here who wvw exclusively. Some, never even had done a dungeon. So yeah, You could say that many dont want to do fractals to obtain the best gear. . .

that's a good point, but aren't there daily PVP and Monthy PVPs? these don't get you Laurels? if not, that's jacked, if they do, then that's really 4 ways to get the best gear.

I am casual, very casual. I dungeon when my guilds is looking for someone, I fractal when my guild is looking for someone. I tend to just wander around and I get my dailies done pretty legit.
I won't be on this evening, but I was able to get my daily done for today last night. so, i have until tomorrow to get today's. It's pretty flex from where I'm sitting, but I know not everyone is in this seat. I also don't feel compelled to get my dailies done. but, when I'm on it's give me direction.

The dailies are the only thing making me log on, tbh. I love the game but it's just so sluggish with the awful, awful targeting, skill cooldowns, and the time it takes to fire one skill after another. Downed states targeting the wrong players so you waste your skills/die, shitty auto-attacks (so annoying as an Ele, randomly attacking passive mobs whenever you switch attunements) the lag between actually selecting another target and your attacks actually going towards them (I'm hitting mob A constantly even though I selected mob B ~6 seconds ago) 500 hour loading screens, make a cup of tea and check facebook whenever I port anywhere... overall I just think the game is SO DAMN SLOWWWW

Possibly not helped by my shit internet but other games are better than this. Why does everything I do feel like I have marmalade stuck to my feet or I'm doing it in wet cement. My comp can more than handle it.

So yeah besides everything feeling absolutely pointless my main concern is the horrible sluggishness of it.

That sounds like you have PC/connection issues. I'm playing from the UK - not sure where you're based - and the game flies for me even with most stuff set on high. Have you tried lowering the settings? If that doesn't work it does, as you say, sound like you have a crappy ping.

I sign on everyday after 7pm EST to do my daily. I appreciate that Anet created the laurels to allow those of us who don't enjoy fractals to get ascended gear. I just wish that there was a way to get them faster...LOL. The new gear also is a money saver since I can use laurels to equip toons instead of crafting exotic gear and having to use expensive ectos and T6 mats. It may take a while to equip each of my lvl 80 toons, but they can remain in rare jewelry until I get enough for them ...say in a few years.

They give you tournament tickets. Spvp is still a blast for me. Currently I have 0 laurels and don't plan on ever getting any so when they introduce more ascended gear on the same system those who have been playing the longest and getting their daily's done will be better geared in wvw which was exactly what gw2 hype was against unless I'm mistaken. Great game nonetheless I just hate the new pve system for acquiring gear since it takes 30 daily's for 1 piece of new gear.

Im surprised that no one has mentioned the impact to jewelcrafters. They are completely neutered by this change. almost all new lvl 80s will have earned laurels by the time they are 80 reducing the need to by crafted earings/amulets.

Im not a jewelcrafter, but I have thought about them recently.

Well thats good to know. I was considering doing sPvP to see if I could earn more laurels, but now I know it wouldn't do me any good.

I have a lvl 400 jeweler who makes all my exotic jewelry for my lvl 80 toons and now I plan to save up laurels for ascended jewelry instead of crafting my own exotics. Since they have nerfed salvaging ectos from rares I plan on saving my ectos for other things than crafting jewelry.
