Well, I am at my grandma's computer now. Problem is, when I try to use the system requirements tool to see if this desktop can work on GW2, the system is very slow to check it for some reason. Know any other way I can check the specs?

So from your PMs I know your computer is completely unusable. You should still take your laptop to your grandma's and keep the PC at the location you game the most.
I am assuming your hard drive and DVD/CD drive is SATA connections, but I could be wrong. So check on that please. I sent you a PM asking you if this was a store purcchased PC, or a custom case. If it is a custom case you are in luck, you can save the $50 or so buying a new one.

You can buy these parts anywhere that sells them, I just used newegg to make a cart.
If you want to make the system cost more or less there is room for change. You can do i5 over the i3. For graphics cards you can go HD 7770 or 650Ti or HD 7850 or Geforce 660. (low to high price)
That case is just a placeholder, as cheap cases are usually around $40+ feel free to change to whatever you want.
OK. Is it using SATA or IDE connections? The HP case can't be re-used.
If it is using SATA, you can take the hard drive out and the disk drive to save $. I personally don't build computers with DVD/CD drives anymore (for myself) but most people seem to like to hang onto it. If it is using IDE we will have to pinch ($55-75) from the performance to include a new hard drive.
When you are ready to make the purchase you dont have to use newegg. pcpartspicker.com gives lowest prices and where. Amazon, Newegg, Microcenter are the places I most often get my parts.
@skidawgz, I'll be going back to my grandma's tomorrow. I'm going to take the screwdriver and remove the back of the PC to see if the two items I linked to you can be put in an HP. What times will you be available tomorrow, so I can add you on FB and make chating easier?
