Thread: Do you still play GW and if so what are you up to nowadays?

Do you still play GW and if so what are you up to nowadays?

I guess most of us might be veteran Guild Wars players, so I'm wondering whether you guys still play and if so, what you do nowadays?

    As for myself:
Back in the day I used to play with friends all the time. Especially when factions was just released we were always ABing together and dungeons when EotN was released. However, most of my friends have now moved on to a different game. I moved on to different games as well back at the end of 2008, but I recently felt like coming back and get about 35 max titles.

So when I login now I only spend my time maxing the few titles I have left, namely: Treasure Hunter (200 more chests till max), Lucky, Unlucky and Wisdom.

I'm a long time GW player. Started back during the alpha testing, and never looked back. Early days I was in a hardcore PvP guild, who regularly were in the Top 50 on the Guild Ladder. I remember 2-4 hour long GvG matches. One particular match with a highly skilled Korean team went 4 hours and 32 minutes. And farming mobs on Orr with a particular OP elementalist build that rocked at multi-mob attacks.

Playing the game again these days. Making my way fully through Nightfall, which sucks cause there's no one really running groups anymore. Which makes the late Nightfall stages extremely difficult. As you have to watch your pulls, because one mistake will down your party.

    That sounds great. :P
I've never really done a lot of PvP myself. Well, PvP as in HA or GvG. Once I just started playing GW I joined a guild and I've never left that guild (Well, once to max the Kurzick title as we were Luxon and I already maxed that:P). We tried some PvP with that guild, but most of them weren't interested in it as we were mainly a PvE guild.

In GW2 I intend to do loads of PvP though, while also spending time maxing achievements as I just love to do that.

Indeed. I expect them to allow us to take 7 heroes pretty soon though. Or well, I'm hoping for it. :P

I still play from time to time, sometimes I will put the game down for months at a time and then return out of nowhere with a vengeance. Loved the game since Prophecies was first released and I still love the game, I have been using it as a measuring stick for a lot of games (MMOs and otherwise), which I guess says something.

Anyway, currently I am working through the game to max out some titles on some of my characters. I just rolled a new Dervish to play with a friend of mine who just got back into the game so we can go through all of the missions and such together.

I'm running a Dervish in my play-through of Nightfall. Enjoying the class so far, especially the skill animations.

    Welcome to the forum btw!

Hmm. John, if that imbagon build is still working (I dunno, might have gotten nerfed?) we can dominate late nightfall. It even makes those HM missions easy. Be happy to help out sometime if we actually get our schedules aligned.

EDIT: I haven't played for awhile -- I like to play with friends too, and most have quit. When I do play I've been working on the HM titles on my ele, and the skill hunter ones. I'd like to do the others but I can't be bothered to grind out the money to finish all the ones you have to consume items for.

that would be cool. On the same schedule as Venn. If he can discover why he was deleted from the Guild Wars matrix, we can all play together.

I actually had to go through a long process to contact A-net, and prove the account was mine. I mean they were asking for my game codes, payment methods and everything.

I did get it back eventually though.

Thanks Johnny. I figured I would jump in here because I got a note from Twitter about this forum.

And I have seen a couple of Imbagon builds that still work. Here is the link to the build on PvX Wiki: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Imbagon

Folks also like to run around in HM with a hero team build that is called 'Discordway' (http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Discordway) or 'Sabway' (http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Sabway). Apparently one can roll through a lot of areas, even in hard mode, with these builds.

    I hope that helps.
