Unfortunately, it sounds like the live feed is having sound issues. So I can't hear what the community manager is saying along with the gameplay. Plus it's in German, so it probably wouldn't matter anyway.
Having the Charr run around on all fours is such a cool effect.
*goes into cardiac arrest just from glancing at those screenies*
Though personally I think target selection is way too glowy and outlined but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Well, the first official demo of Guild Wars 2 is now in the books. My first impression was that of shock and wonder.
The Shatterer battle we've heard so much about definitely didn't disappoint. The animations look so crisp and smooth. And the battle looked about one of the largest PvE events I've ever seen in an MMO.
Some of the screens I'm going to post will show off how large, and dare I say "epic" it will be.
I took a ton of screens, which I'll post throughout the day. Next demo will take place tomorrow at 11:00.
Also, if you missed out on the live demo I'm sure NCSoft will post that portion of the stream as a separate video. And if they do, I'll be kind enough to post it here
I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that most of the players fighting the shatterer weren't previously partied up and thrust into an instance. That was completely impromptu grouping.
First Impression: Same, Shock and Wonder. The Charr's tails whipped around realistically, although I noted a lack of skills, but it's a demo, so I don't mind. The graphics are even more impressive than I expected, and the sheer size of that dragon was just.... damn.
Although I did find a terribly, terribly disappointing flaw in this game:
