The Truth Will Set You Free
To be honest, ive never actually played guild wars or Wow, but after playing tons of other mmos i was narrowed down between guild wars and WoW, i read the storyline of each and Guild wars just seemed more appealing, i decided to just wait till Gw2 comes out instead of wasting money on the first one
Same as Artemis here. I mean, I did play some end-game WoW in a friend's account. Beat most people, maybe because of gear or class or because I got the hang of it quickly.
Played Rift, too, nice community, great graphics, though they just got the best from each MMO, put everything in one package, revamp it and launch it. A good game, I liked the PvP, very fast paced and has *some* tactical gameplay.
Honestly, that's just my opinion. Like Centaur said, there's no better game in reality, 'cause it's a matter of opinion, but since it's my opinion, Rift just owns WoW. Not hard to do so, but people have invested so much they can't let go of the game. Let them play, they have the right. I just hope they are genuinelly having fun there, not... Feeding an addiction, you know.
But I want to feel like I am actually formulating a strategy, kind of like Dragon Age or Fallout Tactics while in an action game, where everything depends on a nice positioning and a smart mind more than your STR points, you know? Like one of those movies the general lures the army then signals from a tower for another force to flank 'em and surround 'em and beat 'em even outnumbered because they were smarter. Yeah, that'd be helluva cool experience. Also, I'd bet roleplaying would be very nice counting on the level of maturity the community for this forum has.

I was waiting for this thread!
First off I want to say nothing will ever be a "WoW-Killer". There will never be a game that kills WoW. WoW will always have users no matter what anyone else releases. That being said, yes, I do believe that GW2 could definitely reduce the size of WoW for a while. And quite possibley forever if the game stays solid and interesting. If GW2 releases a game that lives up to all the hype it will be dominating. How could anyone honestly say they would rather do the same old thing they been doing for who knows how long instead of trying out GW2? No one! Every true MMO lover WILL try this game, and all GW2 has to do is keep you hooked.
Clay Matthews > Chuck Norris
WoW will never get me back as much as I miss my druid. I can't stand a $15 a month sub when I feel like I should have access to the content from the box price. I don't believe server costs are $15 a month from millions of subscribers.

I have a friend who works for Blizzard and is one of the quest writers. He said that WoW will have a few more expansions until over the next 5 or 6 years. After that, it'll go free to play. Possibly even after Titan comes out if they lose more players. They've lost 2 million players since cataclysm came out. They lost even more when SW:ToR came out. When gw2 launches, they'll probably lose even more players. A lot of players. I expect gw2 to take atleast half of WoW's player base at the time. Maybe a little less.
I don't know if you guys have seen this, but rumor has it that Blizz is working on a F2P title. Titan perhaps?
From Game Informer.
I have no doubt that Blizz will be watching GW2 very closely.A new, unannounced game from Blizzard Entertainment will be free-to-play, according to a new report. Develop says a source told the website the studio is working on a free-to-play project, but couldn't provide additional details.
Blizzard is currently working on its next-generation MMO, Project Titan. It's unclear if this report is linked to that game. The company is also finishing up Diablo 3 and StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm.
A Blizzard spokesperson declined to comment on the report.
