    WvW/PvP gameplay

there is not a whole a lot of information about PvP out right now but there is some.
    • WvW is 3 server world battling it out on an open world this is not balanced and you use your PvE char for this, and there are different "Duties" to be done such as resupply, defend, attack, and others yet mentioned. Open world means that if 100 people from server A joins and 150 from B and 300 from C, well then Server C has a good chance to win
    • You will gain Xp from completing duties and kills in WvW
    • Structured PvP will be more like the traditional GvG/HA setup and all Characters will be equal; this means if you have PvE character and want to do some Structured PvP you can but everything gets equalized level, gear, and skills.

i will add more when the data becomes available

I think there is no limit to how many people can participate in WvW.

I think I expressed my love for WvW in the gamescom thread, but I'm going to go ahead and do it again. Everything I've heard about the system, it sounds a lot like what they did in Warhammer Online. Which was an awesome part of that game. And if A-Net can trim some of the parts that hindered it, and throw their own dash of awesomeness into it then I can't wait for some WvW combat.

I can't even begin to imagine how epic (overused, I know) some of the battles are going to be.

well in my opinion the skill chain system is way better then the one in Aion as far as i have seen it works better and all so A-net did good on fixing that so I believe its a good sign for WvW

WvW is one of my favorite mechanics for GW2. Ever since my days of playing Dark Age of Camelot and Planetside were over I have been looking for another good RvR game with three "factions". Having three "factions" is the magic number to make RvR fun and functional. It acts as a natural checks and balances between each "faction". I put factions in quotations because in GW2 they are different servers.

Warhammer Online was a huge let down in the RvR department in comparison to DAOC and Planetside, and I hope GW2 will get it right.

Some additions to the information above~
You will start out with: castles, mercenary camps, mines, lumber mills and villages. there will be Neutral zones between the 3 starting areas that will also have: fortresses, mines, and villages.

You can rebuild walls, create siege engines, and generally defend the team's fortress by using the resources gained from mines and lumber mills.

When controlling territories and control points they will give the world that controls them certain benefits such as a better Drop Rate, Hp regen or even Energy regen. Guilds can control Keeps in WvW and may get rewards in game for it

You can enter as a sidekick, though you can enter at any level, which will allow them to play as a higher level character. There is no limit on the amount of players and you are free to come and go as you wish. Regardless of what level you are you use the skills you have, you dont get PvP skills.

WvW is geared for a casual PvP feel, its a more relaxed PvP environment and a a good learning ground for structured PvP. Its designed so players from any level and any PvP background can join in, be useful and have fun

Those sound like great additions. From everything released it seems like WvW will be fun no matter how you are involved. Whether you just pop in to do some casual PvPing or gathering a team/guild together to truly make a run at conquering some land sounds like a blast as well.
