I'm completely new to Guild Wars. Hope everyone is as excited about this game as I am and pray we don't get disappointed. Still kind of confused on what profession I want but I'm leaning towards Mesmer. I'm just scared I might fail at it since I've read it may be challenging. But i'll try my best and hope you all do to.
I study all the elements, but I wear a circlet that symbolizes my love of Earth. I was raised among the Nobility. Everyone said I was blessed by Lyssa when I was young. Trouble may follow, but I use my Charm to overcome it. One of my biggest regrets is that I've never searched for my True Parents.
Hi Takeva, welcome to this forum. Yeah, Mesmer should be easy to play, but hard to master, so it will take a while to make the most out of your combination of available skills. So just take your time and enjoy the game.
And if you're not sure about the professions... from what we've heard, you will have at least 5 character slots upon release, so you can always create multiple characters (1 of each of the professions you most want to try), rush through the tutorial, then move your character to The Mists (the starting zone for pvp). There your character will be level 80 with all skills unlocked so you can practice on some of the practice dummies there, to experiment and see if you like what you will get with that profession...
Welcome to the forums, and GW2's play style makes about every profession hard to master. I think the challenge will come more from knowing how to set yourself up on the battlefield then knowing how to use your class. Which is a good thing.

Well if you've never touched Guild Wars before; then that's a good thing.
The way the Mesmer plays now, and the way it played in the prequel are questionably different. However; as always ArenaNet has made the class very intriguing and deep. Just like all the professions in Gw2 the Mesmer will definitely be a Jack-of-all trades, and a master of none. Learning how/what/when, and why to do things is only half the fun.
