It usually takes me a LOT of searching to find legitimately free sheet music and not some site that wants you to pay or give information in some fashion. All I can say is... good luck.

That's actually a really good idea imo. I go volunteer at various schools and they love to see folks coming back for any reason - and they'd probably be more than happy to hook you up. Of course, I go to schools I DIDN'T go to growing up since I don't have fond memories, but people assume I was a student as some point anyway.
The funny thing is, to proctor a test or something, they do a criminal background check... that takes two weeks! That coupled with the fact that I have never had so much as a speeding ticket is annoying (let alone a felony, srsly).
