Guild wars 2 costings

Hey, i was going to preorder guild wars 2 but i come from the uk and the price in the Uk is 49.99, yet if you pay in dollars it's 59.99 dollars which comes to about £37. Is there a way for me to pay for gw2 using dollars instead of pounds?

Hi Azenib, welcome to this forum!

Sorry, no, you can't. Guild Wars 2 is 'region locked', which means that they divided the world into 2 regions: Europe, and 'everything else'. If you're in Europe, you will only be able to log in with an access code from a European retailer. So even if you would buy a copy from the US or from Asia or whatever, you would not be able to log in.
And if you buy the digital edition from the buy.guildwars2.com website, the site will automatically determine your location (and thus your region) and your currency. You cannot change that.



According to ArenaNet:

"currency fluctuations, distribution costs, taxes and market conditions in addition to the cost of goods are all contributing factors when setting pricing. These vary dramatically between NA and EU and our pricing is competitive and adjusted accordingly."
