Should I give GW2 a try?

Hello all,

I hated Guild Wars 1 and I'm wondering if GW2 will have a different feel altogether or will it be the same. Before putting my money down on something I havent tried out yet and make the same mistake I have with games in the past, I wanted to hear your opinion.

As someone who has never played GW1, I cant compare the two, but i have played MMOs going on 15 years, so I can say that what GW2 is offering is so amazing and different, that I have pre-purchased the game this morning and can't wait for the beta event weekends.

Have to agree with the video. If it doesn't feel like WoW then I normally loose interest but that video sold me on at least giving it a try. Hopefully its not just hype.

Hi lawlobiscuit, welcome to this forum. Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 are completely different games in terms of almost every aspect except lore and the fact that you only have a limited number of skills at any given time. Guild Wars 2 has the same wide open persistent world that WoW has, but it has much more dynamic combat, and many other quite innovative aspects that make it really interesting. It may or may not be your style, but the fact that you dislike Guild Wars 1 doesn't say anything. So yes, I can definitely recommend at least giving GW2 a try.

All I can say is "Hell yes!" GW2 is going to be a completely new game, similar to GW1 but different in many ways as well. There are still going to be 10 skill slots unlike the 8 in the first one. Also there is going to be many, many ,many new changes aswell while still keeping the main idea/story line of the first one.
