ArenaNet Blog: Inside the CE: Making of GW2 Book (2012-04-12)

Today ArenaNet posted their second part in the "Inside the Collector's Edition" blog post series: the part on the "Making of Guild Wars 2 Book":

Today we’re going to take a look at another key component of the Collector’s Edition – the 112- page Making of Guild Wars 2 book. This deluxe hardback book goes behind the scenes during the five year production of Guild Wars 2.

Loaded with gorgeous concept art, designs, and screenshots, the Making of Guild Wars 2 is a beautiful book on its own, but we’ve also packed each page with fascinating details about the evolution of the game from an ambitious dream to the final product. Brady Games author Doug Walsh interviewed ArenaNet staffers from every discipline to create the story of the creative journey we’ve taken as a company. Whether you’re a hardcore Guild Wars fan, you’re interested in game developments, or you just like to look at spectacular art, there’s something between these covers for you – and you can only get it by ordering the Guild Wars 2 Collector’s Edition.

Okay THIS excites me...far more than the Rytlock figure, which I quite like.

I always love to watch how creative projects evolve. I've been following GW 2 for years and this is just going to be really cool. I wish I had a coffee table to keep this on. lol

Wouldn't work for me. Even though the page with the asuran race on it is probably larger than the real thing, it's still not big enough to wipe a horse's ass with...

Oh yeah, I forgot, horses CAN'T READ.

A good thing centaurs only have the body of a horse, and the head (and torso) of a human, then. Otherwise you'd have recruited yourself one useless forum mod.

Anyway, did you guys read what it says on the right side of that third image... about Zhaitan:

"Kekai Kotaki drew an incredible dragon concept for Zhaitan where the dragon itself was composed of dragons. Where its mouth would be, there's just more dragons," Hargrove says, still barely believing what she's describing. "It took forever to model that guy, but it was awesome."
This sounds so cool. Can't wait to finally run into that guy in-game!

With regard to the typos/grammatical mistakes that you can find in these images, Rubi Bayer is quick to reassure:

Don't worry, you won't see those typos in the book you get.
