    Post Dynamic Events

I am really, REALLY looking forward to GW2. I read and watch the videos quite a bit. This morning I found myself asking how exactly will Dynamic Events work. I rewatched the Manifesto video and Ree Soesbee said "...you will rescue a village that will stay rescued...". In the DE overview by Colin Johanson there is an entire section written about replayability but it didn't clear up the questions. So my questions are :

I think Ree either mistated or misunderstood what she was trying to convey.

If village A is rescued and stays rescued does that mean that specific event can only occur once and the first group that completes it gets to experience the event?

Will village A be in a constant state of tug of war between being resuced and being overrun and someone has to save them every time?

How often will a specific event occur?

I saw were events would scale based on the number of players attempting it. Does that mean 1 player could complete an event or would events have a minimum player requirement?

Will Guild Wars 2 use a phasing system?

How will you be able to replay an event on a different toon or same toon?

Thanks so much for your answers and insight. I look forward to playing Guild Wars 2 with you!

i have a feeling it will go something like CoH/CoV, if you go a Main City in some Places a BIG mothership will be flying around and it will Port mobs into the City, ever one can join its a Open event, you can grp with each other to Gain More , but the Mobs are say lvl im 15, they show up 15 for me, but johnny is 35 they show up 35 for him, but we are attacking the same mob, idk what you would call this, but it worked pretty well if CoH/CoV, and it only happens in some citys,

as for villages staying rescued, i think if they have a BIG event, all the Villages will be under attack, and if you save it, ones the event is Over, it STAYs saved but ones the new event starts up it can get attacked.

btw my real name is Shawn as well xD

Yeah, I think Dynamic Events is really what will set this game apart from any MMO. Watch for a lot of copycats in other games after this is implemented.

Oh, and welcome to the forums!

Dynamic events work as such, centaurs are going to raid a village no players are there to stop them or they fail to stop them. The centaurs raid the village and take it over and kill all/most the humans. Well you and a group of players come along and get an event to REMOVE them, so you do successfully(all players that are helping get a quest reward). Well then you get another quest to help rebuild or defend the new settlers while they rebuild, you and a new set of other players do this(players helping get a quest reward). Then there could be another quest or even more, but here is the kicker if you would have been there from the start and saved the village you would have had a whole different chain of events. Such as you defended against the centaurs now "Can you help us with collecting water there seams to be a monster down by the river" or something like that
Don't worry though because it is only a matter of time be for the centaurs decide to try another attack on the village(Events do repeat themselves its just a question of how often and which quest are passed/failed.) The time frame has not been announced and i think it may take a few tries to get the timing right depending on the players
