    Achievements & Feats

    Achievements
Achievements in Guild Wars 2 is very similar to the Titles in GW1, however in GW2 achievements don't give you any advantages and they don't effect gameplay. They do cover a lot of the players activities, and earning achievements will grant a player the ability to display a Title beneath their name. Achievements are account based and as such no achievements can be unlocked more then once per account, also some achievements require more then one character to complete them. For each tier completed towards an achievement you are awarded points based on that tier, your friends will be able to view this.
There are 8 achievement categories with achievements (some with multiple others with one), and multiple tiers for each. With a grand total (including all the tiers) is 250, currently.

    Feats
Feats are a daily activity that relate to combat, which resets daily. Feats are tiered and the difficulty of the tasked is increased in multiple ways, like the time to complete being decreased. Upon the final kill of the Feat the creature will drop, in addition to normal loot, the feat reward. Feat rewards can be: Professional Loot, Extensive Xp, or Bonus Gold
There are 4 kinds of Feats
    • Count Based ~ number of battles, distance traveled, etc.
    • "How many different kind of things you do"
    • "What challenges you face while running into creatures"
    • Skill based ~ killing streak, speed kills, etc.

I was never one for achievements. Titles are fun in all... but I'll stick to my reputation rather than some title. Feats on the other hand are a completely different story and I'm looking forward to that shit - huge kill streaks here I come. I'm hoping theres an actual challenge though; I'd rather it not be something that any idiot could do.

Agreed, I've never been much for "achievements". To me the achievement of a game is to beat it, and try to get through all the provided content (PvP, events). Some of those achievements in the first GW just sounded so tedious, not sure how anyone had fun going through them.

The feats do sound engaging, and a way to switch up tasks on a day to day basis. I do love a good challenge

just to clarify you gain Rep for each Achievment earned and you can show of rep

Feats get harder and harder, example: kill 50 Centaur in 30 mins, get that done then next would be kill 100 Drake in 30 mins, then kill 50 Giant in 15 mins, etc. (these are not actual feats just an example of the mechanics) Feats reset to beginner level daily so it is a matter of how money you can get done in a day.

A lot of the achievements are just doing the normal in game content Hero for example, just doing your personal story unlocks most of those events unlock the rest. Also while doing Feats you will unlock Weapon Mastery and Slayer achievements. Adventurer takes knowing 10 skills for tier 1 and Explorer is exploring 10 zones for tier 1, both are easy and basic you unlock these simply by playing. I think that they looked at GW1 title thing and decided to go with a way more relaxed achievement system.

Lol, you can slay vases? Gotta love their senses of humor

And uh, yeah. Who would do those titles? I certainly didn't just finish Eternal Delver this afternoon...*cough*

in GW1 i have alot of titles but as i only use several ones (functional ones only) how ever i may use several of the titles in GW2 (i will not be grind for them though) like Wrecker (Machine Slayer) or Slayer of Nightmares...because well i just think they sound cool. But really there is no reason to grind these because they have no function

I actually enjoy things like this for cosmetic value more, heh. But I know I'm odd that way.

The max titles I have are Sunspear, Lightbringer, Delver, the three protector titles, the Factions Guardian title (I'm almost done with Nightfall, still need most of Prophecies) and I only need a few more skills for the Prophecies Skill-Hunter title.

I also have Eternal Survivor on another character (paragon...was pretty easy ).

The Lightbringer is awesome for Domain of Anguish stuff, and the Sunspear is situationally useful (nice for some farming builds). Deldrimor skills I don't use as often as I should, prolli...(I got jealous of Signet of Illusion mesmer payouts...lol) but not bad.

Skill hunters are mostly for fun; but I do get the benefit of it expanding hero builds (though I do typically run with the same ones for HM with only very slight variations, so I'm not sure how much use I really get, lol). So I consider that one useful as well. I plan on getting all three + the Legendary Skill Hunter blah blah whatever.

The Protector/Guardian tracks aren't really useful I suppose, but I've really enjoyed the challenge so far -- particularly as I've hero-henched almost all of them. I have run into some in Nightfall though now that I'm really not sure I'm going to be able to do that way...I already drug Venn in for the waterworks one, lol.

In my Hall of Monuments I'm typically more proud of displaying stuff like Conquerer of the Underworld and the like. Had a blast tanking for that one on my ele I still want to redo Mallyx and The Deep (not done since HoM came out) and I've never done FoW completely period, so I want to do that one too.

If anybody does those things, please do hit me up. I can run pretty much anything on my ele...I've even run a bonder on her before It worked surprisingly well. Can also do Obby tank, or any of several Water/Earth/Fire/Air offensive builds as well as things like Ward Against Harm (which was really useful for some of the HM stuff involving a lot of fire damage).

EDIT: Oh yeah, and my norn bear warrior is totally gonna have to get the Vase Slayer title

Yeah thats all pretty cool. When I was talking about my reputation I meant my actual reputation, not an in game rep But yeah lets hope all that translates to fun in the game isnt just cool on paper.
