Update on server transfers from facebook:
Here is the situation with server transfers: Due to high demand, the queue for World transfers is currently very long and it is taking some time to process the queue. It will take some time for your transfer to happen, so please bear with us. If you log in and are on your original home World, this is normal and you'll eventually be disconnected so that you can log in to your destination home World. Thank you for your understanding! ~RB2

Does anyone no if I was to pre-order guild wars 2 now if I would be able to access the beta this weekend?
Thanks
Hi all!
So, I wasn't able to pre-purchase GW2 until May 4th so I missed the end of April Beta event... so sad. =( But I have now pre-purchased it. And thanks to these forums, was able to figure out how to register at the GW site and download the client. (which is what I'm currently doing) But I have a question.
I watched the little vid posted by Grim above. Now, I heard the part where he says to create a folder to save the executable and run it from that folder. I MISSED the part where he said to create the folder where you want to INSTALL the game and run it. So, like a numb-skull, I created a folder and saved the executable on my external 1TB hard drive. It's my backup drive so I keep all the programs/applications, pictures, videos, music, and other things I want to save on it. I put the GW2 executable there cuz I was thinking I'd keep a backup of the game there.
But then I ran the executable from that external HDD and now it's downloading there. But I don't want to run the client/game from there. Can I just wait until it's completely finished downloading, move that whole folder to my C drive, and then run it from the C drive for the next Beta? (which is there any word yet on when that will be? probably not... they did JUST have one, but i thought i'd ask just in case)
Another question. I just created a custom-built computer online (@ iBUYPOWER.com) so I should have a new, nifty-bifty computer in a week or so. Is it going to cause a problem with me downloading the client on THIS computer, and then having to do it again on the new one?
Thinking along those same lines, how does changing computers work with these digital downloadable games? For instance, I have Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and I got it through GameStop's download manager. I also have the Pets expansion for Sims 3 through Origin (EA's download manager). And now I've purchased Guild Wars 2, the digital download version. How does all that work with changing computers or even just formatting your hard drive to reinstall Windows?
Sorry for the wall of text and the (Spanish) inquisition. (*giggle* I had to say it)
Spike: You made a bear!
Buffy: I didn't mean to.
