fleets, a few questions based on some things I can think of:
- what was your exact download location (exact path to which you downloaded/from which you started the gw2.exe) ?
- how much space did you have free in that location, and on your C drive?
-
well at one point i it was stopping so i was keeping my eye on it, and when it stopped i just went to the file and pressed run, and i was doing that for a couple of hours.
I got into the game and did the great hunt but when i got to the quest before getting to the whole world it froze my computer , so i had to reset and start all over again.
so i do have the capacity to play the game ( i think) .
my brother came round and tried doing it the way he had it done , and on his pc it worked fine.
he put it on desktop file , which is what i did.

If you managed to completely download and start the game, then apparently the download itself isn't the problem. Not sure why your entire computer would freeze though... that may be a hardware issue on your computer.
Also, it shouldn't start the download from scratch after a reboot. If it does, then it sounds like your download location is messed up (could be related to the file being on your desktop, or possibly in multiple locations on your system or in a temporary Windows folder).
So I'll try it once more:
* Search for "gw2" on your computer. delete all occurrences of gw2.exe, gw2.tmp and gw2.dat to make absolutely sure that you don't have multiple locations messing with each other. Also delete the ones from your desktop!
* Create a folder C:\GuildWars2. Make sure you have at least 16GB of free space on your C:\ drive.
(optional: replace the C: with another drive if you have more space there, but if you do that, make sure to use that same path in all following lines as well).
* Right-click on this link and choose 'Save as' - and save the file to C:\GuildWars2\GW2.exe
* Browse to C:\GuildWars2 and start GW2.exe. See if it is able to successfully download and complete.
* If it does complete, right-click on "GW2.exe" and choose "Send to/Desktop (create shortcut)". Do NOT move or copy any of the files in that directory (for example to your desktop) !
Hopefully you manage to do this in time for the next BWE (at the end of this month).
If this fails as well, then you may have to contact support (https://support.guildwars2.com) to get this resolved. If it comes to that, then please make sure you provide as much info as possible (detailed specs of computer, the exact download location you used, how much free space you have on your harddisk, etc)

well thankyou for the help centaur.
but im still having the same problem, i sent my info to the support team, but may take a few weeks to get a reply as they have a lot to read.
i downloaded the game , everytime it said download failed( and there was a lot) i just ran as admin in the file .
will probably get a lot of glitches when the next beta comes up.
If there is nothing that can be done i will ask for my money back and buy the game from a shop

That's a big bummer! And yeah, support is flooded with questions right now, and they're still working long shifts to work away the backlog from this weekend.
But the good thing is that the next BWE is still at least several weeks away, so they should have enough time to get through that stack and look into your issue.
I definitely hope you can get this sorted out in time for the next beta weekend.

As for the game freezing.. You're probably using Windows 7 right? What you can try to do is, run the program in Windows XP Service Pack 3 mode, take a look at the screenshot below:
http://www.touchofdarkness.com/uploa...0__sshot45.png
Also make sure to run it as an administrator, if you weren't doing that already.
Always make sure that your graphics card driver is up-to-date. Which graphics card are you using? If you need help finding the correct download link, post the name of your card here and someone will give you a link to the latest download.
Temporarily disabling your anti virus program may help also. If you need help with that, let us know which program you're using.
Also shutting down all other running programs might help.
These are just a few common suggestions for when your game is freezing, these things may help. Post here if you still need help. (Ofcourse it's hard testing it without any event currently running..)
