Thread: What do you guys want next?

There will definately be another medium armor wearing class. Theres only 1 so far, and 3 more profs to go.
As to what it could be, I'm at a loss. The obvious choice is a monk (the non healing kind)/assassin/rogue type prof. BUT there is already a high dps melee prof, and who wears better armor!

It'll be a tall order to make a melee prof who works differently enough so that its not just another 'run up and hit em' proffession similar to the 2 we already have (no offence to them, they have their own unique niches, but finding a 3rd may start to get tricky).

That being said, they'll totally pull it off. They are damn awesome!

Who says Assassins have to primarily be a Melee profession I could see an Assasin duel wielding pistols or sniping from afar with a rifle. And maybe their melee tactics will consist primarily of hit and run.

tbh theif would be the closest to a shaolin, fast, flexible, but no power :S
or even a warrior, strong, powerful, proficient in many fighting styles, maybe more so since theif uses shadows (step) and a warrior is all natural.

As for a release date I don't want to see one. Rushed games suck like Age of Empires online. If they said "We will be releasing GW2 before August 2012." That would be great!

Professions: Healer! I like healing or maybe something like a holy Necromancer. Do damage to heal/buff nearby allies but all holy looking. The guardian is basically retnoob from WoW, which is fun but I'd love to see something a bit more powerful.

Mods: Would love to see a blog post about how only certain parts of the game can be modded. Mods are great! They expand the comunity, bring new ideas to improve aspects of the game and the developers can bring these mods into the game. Blizzard really picked up the ball pre-cata. E.g. Dungeon Journal instead of Atlasloot mod.

But I would hate to see a damage meter! These imo really ruin a game. You spend the entire fight watching the meters instead of doing your damn job. An activity meter would be useful for identifying leechers.

Armour: Customisation like in GW1, vanity slots and actual progression would be nice but I know thats not the GW theme.

Hi Greatheart, welcome to these forums.

With regard to modding (ie. opening up the API to allow extensions by the community), Rick Ellis (ArenaNet) has said the following:

Initially, development will stay internal to ArenaNet so that we can control the quality and integrity of the apps our players use. A major concern of allowing others to develop apps that are then distributed to our players is security. We would need to make sure that unscrupulous players don’t develop and distribute destructive applications. So to answer your question, we don’t have any specific plans for this right now. It’s something we’ll have to re-evaluate in the future.

I gather by the comment sin this thread, no one reads the dev logs, and knows whats in or not in GW2.

I know there will be no panda monks, for sure, nor a bonus for signing up for a years contract like Blizzard is doing, fright before TOR and GW2 are due to come out.

If they are not affaid, they will be, they will be
