Negative vayne. i tried a little crafting today before i went to work. Couldn't get them to split.
Currently looking for member for PvE, sPvP and WvW on Stormbluff Isle
Zilch, we should probably report that.
It took me a while, but I figured it out.
It's alt-click, and then drag. You must do it within your own inventory. You cannot split something from your inventory to a slot in the mailbox. Simply split the stack within your own inventory, and then send the new stack in the mail.
