Looking for an east coast guild [Prefer Canadain Guild]

    Hi,

I currently in Hong Kong, and will be moving to Toronto in a few weeks. So I'm looking for a Guild on my new timezone.

What am I looking for in a guild:

    • A Guild that like to try all aspects of the game, could be WvW last week, PvP tomorrow and PvE the next.
    • Uses voice comms, just makes everything easier, in every way. I love the banter you develop over comms too, makes a guild stronger.
    • Everybody is important, been in too many guilds where I just a number to help them gain X, Y or Z. I'm all for guild level ups, guild questing, guild activites, I just don't want to be some where, were random people are invited just to gain for the guild. Like DDOs guild level system, where guilds earned XP, and brought upgrades, so people just invited everybody, and spammed to get more members just because of this.
    • A guild that goes out an does stuff, with out the guild leader pushing to organize stuff. Been there as a Corp leader in Eve Online and it sucks, for everybody.
    • A guild that keeps it real and keeps it fun.
    • Pub meets would be the icing on the cake.

    What have a played

    • World of Warcraft a long time ago
    • Eve Online, played it for a very long time, till I finally got bored of it
    • D&D Online - had a lot of fun, was just on the wrong timezone to get into it
    • Rift - really enjoyed the game, and then lost interest in the end game, wrong guild for me I guess
    • Star Wars The Old Republic - Like Rift loved it till I hit the end game, then it did not keep me captivated. The storyline was amazing, and its biggest downfall, once finished everything else was an anti-climax
    • Guildwars - played along time ago.

I've also tinkered in a lot more other MMOs

    About me

I'm an expat from Britain living in Hong Kong, about to move to Toronto. A pretty hardcore gamer, logging double figures in hours every week in gaming, playing just about every Genre. Be it on the PC, Xbox 360 or PS3, I'll play it.

I can me a little crazy (or very depending on your view point) and do spontaneous things like deciding go the Fanfest at the possible moment. I've traveled from the North pole (yes I have photos) to south Africa, and the UK to Australia. Looking forwards to add the America to my list of places.

Worked in the Philippines building coral reefs, even taught English to 2 year old in Hong Kong.

What more is there to say?

Hello Oroshi! PainTrain is currently recruiting. We have tons of players from Canada in our guild including officers. We will cover PvE, PvP, and WvW! You are more than welcome to stop in our TeamSpeak and chat with us and we can answer any questions you may have. Our website is http://ptxguild.com/ Here is a little more about us:

Pain Train is a competitive, organized and democratic based PvX guild made up of veteran gamers located throughout the United States and Canada. Our staff group is primarily over the age of 25 with an average of eight years gaming and P.C. experience each. Consisting of everything from retired professional gaming CAL-I / WSVG champions to gaming mod and application developers. Our guild is skilled, seasoned, fun to game with and be around. We invite you to check out our communications to get to know us a little better. Most of the time we can be found on our Teamspeak server. If you’d like to join us, please do so.

    Philosophy
In PainTrain, we take having fun seriously. Our guild focus is about letting the member choose how competitive or casual they would like to be with the games they like to play. The only thing we ask is that our members show consistency in their gaming habits, use the social forms of communications we provide when playing and conversing with us as well as displaying common gaming sense and mutual respect.

    Competition:
We believe that competitive gaming is through strong positive community ethics, member consistency and proper implementation of strategies and techniques. Our commitment to this philosophy allows us to create the highest level of productive output and unity within the guild. We ask that all of our competitive members adhere to these qualities and understand that this is a commitment to our atmosphere.

    Casual:
Gaming is our passion and creating a relaxed, entertaining environment catered to social gaming camaraderie is what we want to provide. We ask that our members maintain a positive ethic and standing within the guild. We plan on a heavy guild event calendar so whenever our members are online we have something planned for them in cooperation with the guild. Our current goals consist of recruitment, leveling, mastering abilities and trade, as well as group PvE, Ops Raiding, PvP/WvW and crafting/ability workshops. Above all, we strive for an organized community while having fun doing it.

    Consistency
We ask that our members maintain a standard of attendance and communication that keeps a healthy guild culture. Being a regular members means being online consistently and staying involved with our activities. All of us work, have families and some of us have social lives outside of gaming. That is perfectly acceptable with us as long as you have a practical balance, playing with us.

    Communications

    • Website
Like any organized guild, our website is the hub for feedback, operations and participation. We ask that member sign up for the website in order to fill out the membership inquiry and be properly placed on the guild membership roster. If you have an Enjin account, you're almost there. Being signed up also gives you access to forums, news and events.

    • Teamspeak
We require potential members to have Teamspeak prepared to use during the membership interview process and thereafter anytime they are online and playing with us. TS helps us teach and convey strategy during guild events, lets us get to know you and you get to know everyone else in the guild and our community. A mic and Teamspeak is required.

    Skill Achievements & Contribution
We want all of our members to get the most out of the MMO’s they participate in. We provide lessons and workshops on gaining a competitive edge in the games we play. Guild staff are designated to particular areas of their expertise to provide these assets to our members:

    • PvE & Rare Attainment
Understanding how Damage/Control/Support (DCS) vs. the traditional Trinity rotations work in a group, reading game environments, story elements and group questing strategies will be a big part of what we do. Sometimes the best loot and abilities require some searching. We will provide puzzle and rare item attainment tours to those who want to know how to get ahead with their characters.

    • Ops Raiding
Keeping our members up to speed on how group operations work and the role they will play is key. Members that have a strong grasp of combat situations and the abilities to deploy them, will be invited to boss and harder content raids on a regular basis. We will also be showing members who wish to participate, how we function through workshops.

    • PvP & WvWvW
Competitive Player vs. Player and World vs. World will be a mainstay for PTX within the coming weeks after launch. We will have event coordinators and instructors provide PvP/WvW players the tools and skills they need to stay with the group and play a vital role during PvP sessions..

    • Class/Skill/Crafting Abilities
Getting the most of any good MMORPG means understanding the structures from which players benefit from it. We will provide workshops for members who desire a greater understanding of how their character classes and skills work, crafting/gathering/market deployment, game mechanics how to benefit and contribute from them.

Commitment, Communication, Coordination, Positive Ethic. We are PainTrain.

You sound like an interesting guy. I hope you'll take the time and apply to my rather interesting guild.

While we are not Canadian, we do have a couple of those and we're EST. We're a hardcore PvP (and PvE) guild without a lot of the restrictions other guilds impose. We're all about recruiting those who don't need to be babied.

Totally agree with how much of a annoyance this is. in my WoW days, The num 1 guild on my server opened its doors to get to max level. once at max level the guild kicked 300 members, bc they were not apart of the original guild. Anyway. Come check us out

In the event you haven't yet decided on a guild, I ask that you consider The Brotherhood <PvE/PvP/WvW>. And yes, we have Sisters too haha.

Basics: We do a little bit of everything and really aim to have a lot of fun out of a game because that's why we play games. We want to fight through epic dungeons with epic monsters with an epic group to get to an epic boss that drops epic armor. Plain and simple. We want to fight in tough battles against tough opponents and emerge victorious. We want to attack, take, rebuild, and defend a keep in WvW. We want our enemies approaching the keep to see our flag flying on its flagposts and know that they are in for the fight of their lives because on the other side of those walls is The Brotherhood, and taking that keep will be the hardest thing they've ever had to do.

    Why The Brotherhood?

-We've got a fast-growing community. Enjin places us in the top 5 fastest growing Guild Wars 2 guilds using enjin, and that's a lot of guilds. In a little over a month we gained about 120 members. We have hit the 190 member mark and intend on growing strong.

    - We've good a great structure. With a great leadership team, a great ranking system, and a great plan for a Big Brother Program we intend to install shortly after launch, we're looking structurally strong.

    - We've got the content. Our web site speaks for itself. Take one look at it, and you'll know we mean business. I have been a leader of many clans/guilds in other MMOs, and never have I been a part of an organization that packs nearly this much content in a web site, especially in such a visually stunning and fun way. http://www.thebrotherhoodgw2.com

    - We're building a family, not a giant war machine. The problem in many massive guilds is that you feel like just another cog of the war machine. We don't want that to happen. With our Big Brother Program and our Ranking system, we intend on making sure every Brother and Sister feels like part of a family.

    - We have the perfect balance of elitist and teacher. We wanted to have restrictions on joining squads so that a bunch of lvl 1s aren't repping us in WvW, but we would NEVER want to prevent people from being a part of our community. The Big Brother Program will take the intro lvls (like say 1-30) and pair them with a Big Brother or Sister who will teach the new Brother or Sisters how the guild (and the game, for that matter) operates. This fulfills both the need to be elitist and the need to teach.

    - We are global. We have members from all over the world. Our site is NEVER dull, and we have activity on forums and chat box 24/7. We even have officers dedicated to EU players, since we do get several. Even though the guild is based in EST, we have members from every time zone in the US and many other places.

    - We boast immense activity. As of 4/15, we had over 92% Member activity daily. That means that out of our 100something members, over 90 logged on in a 24 hour span. THAT is activity if I've ever seen it. Plenty of guilds can say "Oh we have 100 people," but not many can say that out of those 100 people, over 90 of them are active every day.

    - We were a part of one of the strongest servers in the first Beta Weekend Event. We were one of the biggest reasons our server was so successful in WvW. We were so please with the server that we plan to make it our home server for all future BWE's and launch.

If you're still interested, take a look at our short recruitment video (less than 3 minutes):

Or take a look at our web site: http://www.thebrotherhoodgw2.com

I promise you won't regret it. Thanks for your time, and have a great day.
    High Council of The Brotherhood
