    Hall of Monuments Journey

If you're like me, you didn't pay any attention to the Hall of Monuments before the announcement that all the statues you accumulated in the hall would become a part of your character in Guild Wars 2.

Even with this announcement, if you were like me, it really didn't matter cause we had no idea what we would get come release time. Then came the announcement of the Hall of Monuments Calculator, and now everyone is scrambling around trying to grab statues like they're going out of style. Me included.

This thread is to help everyone band together and assist each other in obtaining statues for the Hall of Monuments. For instance, Venn and I are working towards getting the Black Moa Chick mini-pet which will net us a trophy. It's extremely time consuming, but pulling resources together and working together makes it more bearable.

So what are you working on at the moment for the HoM? Need some help? Let everyone know here.

Well, not like you can't get ahold of me, but for others:

Glint's Challenge for Cloths of the Brotherhood. I have done this with real-people groups lately but I see no reason it couldn't be duoed. I still need four, I *think*. But, they sell well, so chance are I'd be happy to do it either way

Various HM Prophecies missions. A lot I can hero-hench but some are just too tedious for me to bother.

Various EotN dungeons. Slaver's Exile in particular (need to finish on my ele again, or can do on paragon for fun).

FoW clear for the statue.Never done this, so I'd be a noob. Would bring Imbagon.

EDIT: A random piece of advice for anyone who hadn't bothered getting/leveling a phoenix. The Remains of Sahlahja challenge mission is awesome for leveling it. It will immediately die when you're in the junundu, but it still gains experience...so you can level your pet while farming for Ancient Armor Remants, and not have the inconvenience of it wasting a skill slot. I tried taking it into Shadow Nexus as well, but didn't seem to be nearly as fast (it's possible it just takes longer now because the pet is a higher level now, but neither HM stuffs nor Shadow Nexus seemed even half as fast as Sahlahja). I got mine from level 6 to level 16 in just a few runs that way.

All I know is that I need something called statues........
Oh, and that I know absolutely nothing else.

I'd LIKE to make a start on these things, but I don't know what kind of time commitment we are talking here, and considering my highest level character is lvl 13 or something, maybe I should give it a miss?
Or is it easy to start, but hard to finish? Like the loremaster achs in WoW

Ruse, I'm in the same boat you're in. Need to finish (and vanquish) the HM areas, EOTN dungeons and Elite areas (some are pretty tough to do hero/hench), and trying to collect a few more hero armors.

Psyklone, I recommend reading the very nice series on the HoM at Massively:

    Intro 1
    Intro 2
    Part 1
    Part 2
    Part 3
    Part 4
    Part 5

Also, there's a nice guide at tentonhammer.

That should give you a good idea of what it all entails, and what you want to do with it...

PS: as long as your characters aren't level 20, I recommend just playing through the game and enjoying it, without worrying too much about the rewards for GW2

Yeah Guild Wars is best savored. Casually play through, and if you like it you end up rewarded in multiple fashions. The expansions, in my opinion, have higher funfactor and better design. So by the time you play through them you'll find that you've already accomplished some achievements; which is what the HoM end up being anyway but with perks! The full HoM list is simply additional content that a player can work towards casually doubling as replay value.

YOU'VE NEVER FINISHED PROPHECIES. You don't get to compare it when you haven't finished it. lol

I found Prophecies to be the most fun followed by EotN, NF and Faction in that order. The story was more stringent there. That said the bloody desert missions are a total annoyance and I'm not looking forward to the HM versions of them.

I think what makes people like NF and Factions more is that you level up way faster. In Prophecies you can without a problem be below level 20 when you get to Lion's Arch which is quite a bit into the game whil ein the other two you are almost up to 20 when you leave the "new player"-areas.

Completely agree, Prophecies is by far the strongest of all the campaigns. The variety of missions, and amazing final mission that I literally cheered for when I first beat it, has/was never re-captured in any of the expansions I've played through. Though I still haven't completely beaten Nightfall or EotN, so there's room for change but I doubt it's going to happen.
