    War in Kryta Survey Results

I haven't gotten around to completing War in Kryta, but I'm sure many of you who have completed it are interested in this survey.

    ------------------------

What Does it All Mean? John Stumme Discusses War in Kryta Survey Results

The results are in! More than 10,000 people responded to our War in Kryta survey, and we’d like to share not only the results with you – but also how the information we received is going to impact things moving forward, when we take Guild Wars Beyond into the realm of Cantha.

But first, allow me to take a moment to say a big thanks to everyone that took the time to respond. We hope you’ll join us again for more surveys in the future. Now on to the details!

Q: How did you feel about the difficulty of the War in Kryta content?

Our first category saw an interesting split in opinions: 50.5% of people felt the difficulty was “just right,” while 37% skewed towards “too hard.” This is something that we’ll be addressing when we move forward into the new Canthan content we have planned. To start with, on the quests that you’ll be taking, you’ll have the option of completing them in Hard Mode for additional rewards. This will allow us to make the baseline of the quests a little easier for people that just want to get through the content and see the story. For those seeking the challenge, you’ll have a more compelling reason to tackle the quests in Hard Mode—something that didn’t exist previously outside of the Zaishen/Shining Blade quests.

For those interested, only 3.5% of people felt the content was entirely “too easy”, which may be attributed to their use of the super-secret asura battle-mechs.

    great stuff!
I love how open arenanet is with the players. We love percentages and numbers and the fact that they share these with us opening is really awesome.
I'm very excited for a full party of heroes, too! I think that might help soloing some bounties to be easier in hard-mode (some require very specific builds, like heavy interrupts, etc.)
not sure how i feel about Embark Island. I don't think it's gonna work very well.

I'm so very excited to see the Canthan campaign. I really, really need to finish the WiK stuff! Bah!

I like the idea of an embark island. I believe I've heard somewhere that there is a similar system in WoW which seems to be working. The interesting thing about the GW one is that you can only go to places you have available to you as they are unlocked on that character which makes sense gamewise (I mean I can ttravel to them in an instant anyway so...) while the WoW-version seems to make you able to go anywhere in the world even to places you have not been yet which is... odd. This is all based on heresay though

Also: I didn't actually think we would get to see what happened in Cantha. I was almost certain it would be Elona next.

We sure can. It was just that as Cantha was supposed to be blocked off by isolatory forces I felt that it would be logical (for certain values of logic) to leave that as a mystery. That said Elona will also be shut off but for completely different reasons

    Also, thank you

Arenanet is so damn awesome. I mean, this is a game they're not expanding anymore and they're still doing SO much to keep their fanbase happy. If Age of Conan had had even one tenth of this kind of responsiveness to fans (I'm STILL furious at how after months of people telling Funcom revamped rangers were doing too much damage, and them basically telling us Learn2Play, they were all "...oops. Yeah, we found a bug that was causing too much damage." -raaaaaaaaaaage-) Ahem. Anyhow. This is good stuff. I found my opinions followed the majority's pretty well, so I'm definitely going to benefit.

No more letting Alesia tag along. Whoo!
