    Unrevealed professions

So, I have just discovered the Guild Wars 2 twitter account (I know, I know, bad GW2 fan-forum-mod).

    ANYWAYS, a cool tidbit.

Remaining four professions: at least one is a returning profession, at least one is similar with a different name, and at least one is new.
My bet is still on the Mesmer being the returning profession, the Paragon being the similar-but-different-name one (pleaseohpleaseohplease...last "soldier" profession anyone?) and I'm not even hazarding a guess for the new.

Please keep in mind it could be more than one from each of those categories...so it's not necessarily just one returning, or just one similar, etc.

pretty sure that Mesmer is one and Assasin is the other.

I present this pic as evidence of the mesmer class.

Not bringing back the Mesmer would be a strange move I feel. I mean it is one of the most unique points of GW so why not add that to GW2 as well. I don't know of any otehr game that has a profession that is similar to the Mesmer.

Mesmer will always be the class for me.

Messing everyone up and generally exploiting your mind are my specialtys

I agree with Mesmer returning... the profession is even mentioned in the "Ghosts of Ascalon" novel. And yes, several concept art pictures point towards the mesmer as well. Plus, it offers a pretty unique playstyle, not available in any other of the currently revealed professions.

And I too think that the "similar with a different name" will be the Assassin... I saw some concept art related to a "Thief" class, though it may as well be "Rogue" (which is what a lot of people in other forums are speculating on).

On the other hand, they said "at least one", so the other soldier profession may well be some kind of Paragon/Knight/Guardian class.

As for the last one... well, we definitely need some kind of "Gunner" (like the Ranger with his bow proficiency, someone should be able to use those guns, right?).

Plus, we know there will be 3 scholar professions (after Elementalist and Necromancer 1 is left to be revealed... Mesmer would make a lot of sense here), 3 adventurer professions (only Ranger has been revealed, so 2 left; this could be the Thief and the Gunner), and 2 soldier professions (of which the Warrior is one, so 1 left here).

Hopefully more info on these professions will become available soon...

Yea, no kidding. Seems like it has been forever since the last profession reveal.

they said in videos there wouldn't be "dedicated healers" but I want a healer! I love healing.

I can only hope that they meant healer's aren't a must, since anyone can resurrect, but a healer would be still be helpful.

    I quote:

Guild Wars 2 does not have a dedicated healing class.

Everyone take a deep breath. It's going to be OK.

We have lots of people in our studio that enjoyed playing monks in Guild Wars and healers in other games. We examined what it was about the healer archetypes that people really enjoyed, and we took a look at what it was about those archetypes that made the game less enjoyable. Then we created professions to appeal to those types of players.
(see The combat section on healing on the GW2 website for the whole thread)

So although there is no 'dedicated healer class', it will still be possible to play a 'dedicated healer' if you so desire. The other classes will have sets of skills so that they can be played as 'support' types/healers. For example you could play an Elementalist with a focus on Water Attunement, which offers a lot of support/healing spells.

True, but that's still not precisely a "dedicated healer." Minus one ground-targeted AoE HoT, basically (healing rain), and the attunement itself, the water ele still heals allies by doing damage near them. So you can't just healbot. You have to fight.
