Hey guys. Casual GW player here. Just looking for some more info on good class combinations as I try and commit a bit more to the game.
Only have proph atm. Currently have a lvl 13 Warr/Ele, and a lvl 8 Necro/Mesmer.
Cheers in advance!

Been rocking a Warrior/Assassin combo for awhile now. It's a lot of fun, though warrior is a tough class to play. Rely heavily on interrupts, and chasing people down.
I get an adrenaline rush from it though.
With only Prophecies, things like Warrior/Assassin or Ranger/Ritualist are out of the question.
Elementalist/Monk and Mesmer/Elementalist are pretty good combos, although you'd need access to other campaigns to unlock the best skill combinations for them. I kind of liked Ranger/Mesmer when I was at that stage (early Prophecies). Don't worry too much about the secondary profession though... once you're further advanced in Prophecies, you will unlock the ability to change your secondary profession on the fly (while in a town or outpost) whenever you feel like it.
Psyklone, I don't know where in the world you are, but if you're interested in more Guild Wars, I highly recommend the "Guild Wars Complete Collection" - this includes Prophecies plus all expansions (Factions, Nightfall, AND Eye of the North)... it's only £14.99 at Amazon.co.uk (or EUR 20.99 at Play.com, with free shipping to most European countries), which is a price you really can't beat! And even if you already have Prophecies, you can add the key to your existing Prophecies account to unlock the others.
oops, missed the Prophecies aspect of the post. I actually used a War/Ele combo in the early days of Guild Wars, but that was only because it was a good farming combination.
Umm, if we're restricted to Prophecies I would recommend a War/Ranger combo. They can be deadly, and Ranger has good self sustaining skills.
Warriors for me are all about interrupts. Once you have all skills unlocked, you can have up to 3 interrupts in your skill bar at a time which can be devastating in a match.
Your necro/mesmer combination should serve you quite well.

Thanks guys.
Atm I'm not really feeling like Ele is contributing anything to the Warr/Ele build. I get the feeling that Warr/Necro would be better, with some of the cool touch lifedrain spells.
Necro/Mes is damn awesome. I think I soloed 8 gargoyes at once last week.
The BIGGEST aspect as to whether I get the other expansions is how likely am I to get ANYwhere towards the Hall of Monuments stuff for GW2?
Is getting a few quite easy, and half takes a fair amount of time, and all is for insano players?
I actually run W/N on my warrior. I just use Plague Touch though. Removes conditions with the added bonus of adding them to your enemies, heh.

Hi Psyklone,
Yes, some Hall of Monument rewards are fairly straightforward: just having all expansions and linking GW1 to GW2 (when it comes out) will already give you a couple of points (and rewards). Finishing the campaigns will give you a few more, adding a few miniatures to the hall will give you more. So yes, your observation is quite close to the mark (some is quite easy, half takes a fair amount of time, and all is for the die-hards...). Did you see my reply in your other thread ?
Just little vanity companion pets you can have follow you around.
