Thread: Class combo info

They are basically miniature things that can walk around you... kinda same concept like WoW has in that field. The difference is that there are no mini pet traders in GW.

Every character gets a miniature of some creature or character in GW for each birthday it celebrates. The more years your character is old, the more expensive miniatures you get. Also they are classified just like other characters into white, purple, gold and green minis (ordered from the cheapest to the most expensive). The price mostly varies depending on their color which is more of a measure of rarity than the number of years that it was awarded for.

With the sudden inflation due to the HoM affecting our GW2 accounts, players are racing to buy enough minis to get rewards in GW2... and the prices are hitting the roof atm.

Dedicated mini pets are already ...well, dedicated, in someone's hall of monuments and can't be dedicated by some other account, but it still can be shown to players around (read : you can still double click on it and it will follow you). On the other hand, they have pretty low price when buying/selling because they can't be dedicated anymore.

If you want some dedicated mini pets, I believe I still have a bunch in storage, you can have some for free

As the link from Venn already shows, the official guildwars wiki is your friend. If there is anything in the game that you want info on (really, anything!), just look it up there!

Oh forgot to mention, by having prophecies, you still have access to the legendary shock warrior. If you're going to play pvp that is. That bar is also a lot of fun, in fact it gave me more fun than any other bar I've ever run, and that does say something since I literally played warrior 90% of my GW play time ... starting over 5 years back.

Cba getting the template now so I'm just gonna write it down.

    Attributes:
-Axe Mastery: 14 (12 + helm bonus + minor axe mastery)
    -Strength 13 (12+ minor strength)
    -Air Magic 3

    Skills:
    -Eviscerate
    -Executioner's Strike
-Bull's Strike (I'd recommend using Axe Rake instead, until you get used to Bull's Strike... once you get the hang of it, you will have one of the best skills ever introduced in the game at your disposal)
-Frenzy (the other best skill ever, use it carefully though)
-Shock (from Elementalist profession, under Air Magic Attribute)
    -Disrupting Chop
-Rush (mostly used to cancel frenzy)
    -Rez signet

That sounds like an interesting build. Does it work with heroes as well? I have a axe warrior hero that could use some love

Well... heroes are only available in GvG and HA now, and I wouldn't really recommend using it there. If you're gonna have warrior in any of those, it really needs to be a human one. But I believe you missed the ''if you're into pvp'' part

So this build doesn't go as well in PvE as in PvP?

No. Bull's Strike is almost useless in PvE, Frenzy is too risky, due to the fact that most time you'll encounter numerous mobs and AoE heavy enemies, who are also usually high level and they can almost one shot you under the effects of the skill. Rush is also useless, since mobs won't kite you (except for Hard Mode) and Shock... well it can be a useful skill but it doesn't work on big creatures (Giants, Wurms, Stone Summit Herders etc.) and causes exhaustion. If you want a killing machine prophecies build for axe... I guess it'd be something like - Eviscerate, Executioner's Strike, Axe Twist OR Penetrating Chop OR Disrupting Chop, Dolyak Signet, For Great Justice, <utility skill> , Rez Signet.

Utility skill might be Plague Touch (requires necro secondary prof, it's under Curses), Berserker's Stance (if you're an adrenaline junkie), I Will Avenge You (used to be awesome, when you had minion master in party, I'm not sure if the effect still triggers on minions), Remove Hex (requires Monk secondary , under No Attribute spells) or Disrupting Chop / Distracting Blow. It mostly comes down to what you need for certain situations, and what you like playing with.

Don't assume this build is ''the best out there'' or something (I just came up with it during the time of writing this post), but it's is very reliable and no one will call you noob for using it

    Thanks heaps guys.
At this stage anyone could call me a noob no matter how well I was doing and I wouldn't be able to call them on it! lol

1 final question. When i get to change my 2nd prof, how do I unlock skills for it? Do I go back and get them all or what?

Once you have left the pre-searing area (that is, once you have completed the final mission given to you by Sir Tydus), there is no way to go back to that. However, while at the early stage of Prophecies most skills are given as quest rewards, lateron in the game you will be able to simply buy the skills you want from skill trainers (though different skill merchants will often sell different skills). When you get to change your secondary profession and you learn a new secondary profession (there are quests for this in Prophecies), you will initially receive a small set of skills for it. All other skills you can buy.
Also, all professions have 'elite skills' that you can unlock (learn) by using a special capture skills ('signet of capture') on a specific (high level) boss monster once you have defeated that. Almost all of those elite skills are available from boss monsters *after* you have had the quests to learn all the secondary professions, so you will not have to go back to areas you already left. You may have to go through a certain area multiple times (once with each secondary profession) if you want to obtain/capture all the elite skills available in it, though...

[Edit:] PS: one possible reason for wanting to capture all the (90) elite skills in Prophecies (on one character) is because this would give you another title (Tyrian Elite Skill Hunter), thus another statue that you could add to your hall of monuments...

Heh, that shows how much I care about PvP. I didn't even think that it existed and thus immideately assumed it was a PvE build

I quite liked my Elementalist I had. Can't remember what I had fo r2nd profession at first but I'm going to guess on Ranger which is probably not the best combo but it worked. I generally only used ele skills though, in Normal mode almost any build "works"...
