    Races and their Profesions

So before i get to the point of this thread id Just like to say this only my opinion on the subject.

So, Anyone else think that races should be not be allowed to be some professions?
I mean some just don't make sense when you read into the races back storys, such as the Sylvari being Necromancers; I Mean why would a race of nature loving people befoul natures processes by raising the dead?
How about an Asura Being a warrior; How is a 3 foot person supposed to fight others with a sword and shield?
And the Norn them Being Assassins( If its a profession) wont make much sense; Their a race of proud people with a code of honor Being sneaky and hiding in the shadows just is not them.

Now i can keep going on about the other races but it would take awhile and i'm sure you get my point.

Now yes i know that there can be exceptions and some people brake with the norm ( Damn nonconformists :P ) But is some cases such as the Asura Warrior it simply does not make sense at all.

So any one else have any thoughts? A rebuttal perhaps?

first of all, i think there was a sylvari necromancer born in the winter circle in the guild wars lore.

the only real point that bothers me is the asura warrior. i think there should be one or two professions locked for some races. when the combination really doesnt make much sense.

but from what i understand arena net aint planning doing so
maybe asura warrior fight in so kind of hightec magic golem armor

The same way that cows can go in church (read: the same way the tauren can be paladins)

Ah yes id forgotten about the sylvari and the seasonal aspects of them now a necromancer makes a bit more sense.

But this is not the main point of this thread i really want to see if any one thinks that races should be open to all professions regardless of the lore surrounding that race.

Id also like to say even thou people might like to be something like an asura warrior and anet wants to let them, i don't think they realize that it can ( in my case) bother other players a good deal,i mean how would you feel if your charr warrior was defeted by a asura who is probably a good 4-5 feet shorter than him and much weaker, granted they have their golems but to use one entirely for a profession would be a new professions in and of itself.

This is not wow nor do i think we should compare GW to it in any manner.

its the same with aion, where you could customise the size of your char. it sucked because so many midget characters were running around

some players want to play small warriors because its cute or funny but it really can kill the atmosphere, i totaly agree

I see no reason why, for instance, an asura couldn't use some of their magic tech to make armor that enhanced their strength as a warrior; or the Norn couldn't emulate the snow leopard (cats is sneaky bastages) as an assassin.

So I guess no, it doesn't bother me

I think you don't realize just how much being short and very light is a very big disadvantage no matter how strong they are.

Also aren't the Asura big on the whole Brain not brawn thing?

It simply does not make sense.

by your short and light argument only charrs and norn can be warriors? comparred to them all the other races look small?

Short? Swords only work on an opponents upper body?

Light maybe asurans are very dense creatures maybe they weigh as much as a human? so then humans cant be warriors either?

Edit: Just thought of what will end the argument (only half joking) Yoda enough said!

If people can survive a meteor shower getting dropped on their heads in this game, I'm willing to stretch credulity a tad on other aspects. I mean honestly...that spell alone should kill damn near anything instantly...but for balance and fun, it doesn't.

I mean...realism sort of goes out the door once people can raise zombies and shoot lightning out of their fingertips. EDIT: And let's not forget the 90-pound human female warriors merrily laying waste to foes with a two-handed hammer that would have to weigh nearly as much as they do.
