On paper, the Char Guardian looks to be an unstoppable sololing PVP and soloing machine. There is no downside to this mix.
No profession will be unstoppable. All profession are created to be approximately equal in power. If any one profession tends to become too powerful, ArenaNet will definitely tone it down in the next balancing patch.
I was wondering if racial though would have an affect they way people use certain professions such as golems and future plant manipulation (sylvari) , i wouldnt be surprised if players tied the two together in some sort of "Chain skill" of some sort making it "unstoppable".
I am also planning to be a Ranger. My intent is to be a Norn so that I can turn into a creature and also have a pet fighting by my side. It's just a cool image to me. I do really just like the race as well with the story of them being driven from their homelands but them still being a proud people who basically just take care of business. Furthermore, I like snowy mountaintops.![]()
Well i dont know which would be best as far as best at killing is concerned, but the Race/Profession that makes most sense to me is Sylvari/Ranger because both profession and race are ''one with nature'' and this will be my choice!
Others i think Charr/Engineer, Norn/Warrior, Asura/Theif (because they are small and can steal easily hahaha)
Gaming is for fun. So lets play and relax!
A couple points:
1) Racial skills are disabled in PvP, so don't worry about those
2) I love Centaur's statement about being "lore-correct" not being an issue
As for my favorite combinations, I will be maining a Sylvari Elementalist, mostly because I love the persona that Sylvari portray: The honor, the curiosity, the bluntness of their comments. And Ele is the profession I like. The combo of the 2 was never a thought for me, but looking at it, it makes sense. Sylvari are very nature sensitive, and therefore being close to the basic elements shouldn't be hard.
I like people going against the norm (Asura Warrior, Sylvari Engineer), however, I was watching one video about dungeons, and one of the party members was a Norn Elementalist. For me, the idea is fine, but, to be honest, he/she looked absolutely ridiculous in cloth armor... Not hating, just stood out a bit to me...
I think that we will see only a slight parity in players leaning towards race/profession combinations that are seen as more compatible.
~ Jax, not a credible source
I think the absolutely most obvious combination is:
Asura - Engineer
Their whole society is about technology! One of their race-specific skills is to use a mechanical battle suit. So yes, Asuran Engineers, I hope we'll see a lot of them.
Another obvious combination, I think:
Norn - Warrior
How could they be a proud warrior race without warriors? I mean really. Plus:
Norn - Ranger
They'll need to hunt in those vast forests.
Also:
Human - Farmer
Alas, you can't play farmers. I'd love to fight dragons wielding a pitchfork. Also I could grow a crop of plant elves to do my bidding.
Does it really matter? I want to play a Necro, and I like the Norn race. Will I be gimped?
