Umbra Chaotica - Competitive Yet Laid Back (PvP)(NA)(Fort Aspenwood)

    Server: Fort Aspenwood
Play Style: Heavy PvP, Mild PvE
Play Times: North America located, so GMT -5 through GMT -8 for the most part
    Chat: Ventrilo
Current Members: 25, looking to expand to 30 or 35

Chaotica is a tight-knit, PvP guild. Most of us have very extensive MMO experience with the majority of our time together spent in Warhammer and Aion. In both games, we were a very dominant guild in PvP on our respective servers. We enjoy joking around, making fun of each other, and in general, having fun. When it's time to get into the action and PvP though, our serious faces come on and we always perform to the best of our ability as a group. Even while PvPing, we never forget that we're playing a game and we're supposed to be having fun. You won’t find the super serious “winning is more important than life” type attitude with us.

While we plan to be a skilled, PvP guild within GW2, we also practice a relaxed gaming experience. People always want to know if we're hardcore or casual. Well, the answer is, we're neither. We're neither because guilds shouldn't be viewed in such black and white labels. We don't force our members to drop life to play the game. We pride ourselves in being able to have fun together. While at the same time, our members are required to be active, and we are a goal driven guild, always striving to be better, and take on better opponents. In the world of MMO's the word “hardcore” has negative connotations associated with it when it comes to guilds. It's a word that draws in the wrong type of people: elitists, people we want nothing to do with. Choosing the right guild is one of the most important choices when playing an MMO, and the atmosphere that the members create for the guild, to me, is the most important aspect. I'll never keep a member in the guild that is causing trouble, or doesn't fit in, just because they play a class we're desperately lacking, or they play a lot, or they're good at PvP. To me, the atmosphere and values of the guild always come first. If someone apart of the guild starts to disrupt or harm that easy-going, fun, yet competitive atmosphere, they will be removed. We try our best to make every new member feel welcome. We want all our members to be part of the guilds “inner circle.”

While we are a PvP guild, and it is our main passion, some of our members (myself included) like to experience the endgame content, so they can see all that the game has to offer. This is not the guild for you, if you can't stomach pugging PvE content. While we do dungeons together as a guild, it is never a guarantee, and it is never our main concern or focus.

We're a small guild and we prefer to keep it that way. In huge guilds, you're just another stranger in the crowd and will end up not knowing many of the members in the guild. We pride ourselves on being a small, tight-knit guild, where everybody knows your name. By staying a small guild, we end up knowing each other, knowing each other’s play styles, strengths, weaknesses, and how to take advantage of both in PvP. We enjoy playing with each other and do so whenever we can.

    • Divas, drama queens, emos, crybabys
    • Loot whores, instigators, D-bags
    • Elitists, anyone with an "I'm better than you" attitude
    • Anyone expecting to get carried in PvP or PvE, anyone who expects constant dungeon runs
    • Cliques, anyone who will only play with certain people
    • Anyone who needs others to invite them to a group, and won’t take the initiative to invite others

    • A desire to be part of a tight-knit guild
    • A love for PvP
    • Loyalty
    • A sense of humor
    • Thick-skin
    • Vent and a mic (or be willing to buy one)

If you have a sense of humor and want to be in a guild that has fun together and loves to PvP in a competitive yet relaxed environment, then Chaotica is the guild for you. If you have any questions about the guild, or any concerns, don't hesitate to ask in the thread or PM

Head on over to our new website Chaotica to apply for the guild. If you're application is accepted then you will become a trial member of the guild.

I always loved the customization for builds in the original GW, and I'm sure I'll love it in GW2.
