Looking for a mature PvP guild

My first MMO was UO but the first one that really grabbed my attention was Lineage II. Then I moved to WoW and have mainly been playing that up until last year (until they announced the Kung Fu Panda expansion). Although WoW was starting feel stale and the gear grind was getting to me, the real reason I quit was because my guild basically dissolved and my RL friends moved on to other things. So I dabbled in AoC, Rift, Aion and more recently SWTOR. And although they were all enjoyable, none of them have really become my WoW replacement. Hoping GW2 can fill that void I've been filling my PvP cravings lately with BF3, but I'm still missing the MMO experience.

I'm a married, 40+ y/o professional with two businesses. And although I don't have any kids (I don't know how parents can find the time to play - my hat goes off to all of you) I still found that I wasn't able to commit to any kind of strict raiding schedule with huge blocks of time to play. So the only WoW raid dungeons I've been in are the ones that gave PvP loot and can generally be completed in under 20 minutes. The friends I played with were in similar boats so we all gravitated to PvP.

I've managed to claw my way up to a 2.5k rating in WoW the last few season I played. So I may be old, but I'm not exactly a scrub

What I'm looking for in a guild:
    • Maturity and respectfulness with a sense of humour. I don't care how old people are as long as I feel like they're people I could hang out with IRL. I generally don't like hanging out with egomaniacs, drama queens or people with anger management issues.
    • Emphasis on PvP. It doesn't have to be 100%, but it would be nice to be able to log on and join a guild PUG for some impromptu PvP without having to wait all night for some action. It would also be nice if the guild PUG were somewhat skilled. I don't mind playing with people just starting out in PvP - we all have to start somewhere - but a genuine desire to improve (as opposed to being carried) is always appreciated.
    • Relaxed. That means relaxed with times people can play and guild structure. I don't care about guild ranks or names or anything. I just want to log on, have a fun time PvP'ing with cool people enjoy my beer and chill. It doesn't need to be more complicated than that.

Nice to meet you oban let me tell you about Sinister Swarm. We are a multi gaming community, we are always looking for new people to join our family for years and games to come! We have been around for 12+ years and have a very strong history in pvp and pve. We have many active chapters in many games, with the sinister swarm you make friends that last for years that you can play with year after year, game after game. We have many members in the 20-30ish, and many members with little ones so we keep our vent pg13, as well as the drama next to none. Ill sent you a bit more info in a pm!

    Mia where are ya!?

Howdy Oban, Miasmic should be poking his head in here soon. While I am not in his guild Caedas (Im actually the GL for Vanquish) I know those guys and gals well and what they have built from the ground up sounds right up your alley! Incredible group of down to earth "older" players with a focus on PvX minus the attitude that can come with such. Give them a look! Caedas

Why am I plugging a guild that is not my own? Our two guilds have so much in common that we nearly merged early on, but with Caedas focusing a bit more on the PvX side and Vanquish on the PvE side we felt we each filled a niche for mature, focused and "casually hardcore" players looking for a solidly lead guild...we just cater to SLIGHLY different players!

Ta-da! I'm here Oakos! Thanks for the plug. I wasn't going to miss the chance to introduce Caedas to such an astounding player such as Oban here. (If I did, damn it all, right?)

PvP. You want it....well, Caedas has it. Short, simple, and sweet. Here's your evidence. You make your own choice, and best of luck to you in your adventures!

Thanks to all for your speedy PM's and replies. And thanks especially to Oakas for pointing me to Caedas - it says a lot about a GL who would rather see a good fit between a player and guild instead of blindly attempting to recruit anything that moves (or in this case anything that can type). Caedas seems like a great fit for me (application in progress).

Hope to see you all in game soon!

    Who We Are:
Xen of Onslaught is a large multi-gaming guild of 18+ y/o gamers who have a long history of using voicechat to be an organized, dominant force in PvP while cutting up and having a great time doing so. Though we have many accolades as a guild, in particular for the original Guild Wars, we were once made guild of the week and were a top-tier guild that participated in the world championships. Our guild's focus in Guild Wars 2 will be on WvW, but we will also regularly run PvE dungeons and have a competitive sPvP team for those interested in tournament PvP.

Who You Are: You are 18 years of age or older, have a headset and a desire to use voicechat for better guild organization, and, most importantly, you are fun.

Dragon Chasers is a group of highly talented, competitive gamers that aims to be a top competitor in Guild Wars 2.

We started as Space Blasters, a pre-release guild for SWTOR, and we were very successful. Now we're seeking some more excellent gamers with the right mentality to join our team.

As a newer guild, our "core" is more accessible than that of older gaming communities. This means that there's plenty of room to grow for players seeking to prove their worth.

We are a hardcore guild, but we know how to enjoy ourselves. There are no arbitrary rules, regulations or mandates here. Organization is key, but our belief is that intelligent players don't need to be babied.
