It would seem that most people in the USA (where I'm from) never played one (much less owned one)... add that to the fact that I was born in 1986 (just two years before the above market share numbers), and you'll see why I didn't last that particular system. Your complaint seems funny to me though, since I don't see you complaining that I just said "Atari" rather than making a point to identify it as the 2600 (the one my parents have), 5200, 7800, or XEGS... sure I listed the Jaguar seperately, but who wouldn't?
I also didn't include the SG-1000, the Neo Geo stuff, TurboGrafx, Casio PV, Epoch, FCF, Intellvision, Tellstar, the Nintendo Color, nor any of the Odyssey consoles... but I don't see you complaining about those. All of these things were left out because most people never played them, and thus most people could never consider any of those console's games classics. Sure, the Sega Master System may have been big in Sweden (I honestly don't know if it was or not), but next to no one cared about here in the States... so sorry if it didn't cross my mind when I was listing the consoles that mattered in the pre-disc era.
Anyway... all that said, I have to scoff at your follow up from that complaint...
... cause its on the list... y'know... becasue in America it was released at the Sega GENESIS.
But yeah... anyway!
