    EU | Active, game-addicted & MMO-experienced gaming couple

    Dear reader,

First, allow me to briefly give you an overview of who we are, what we look for in a guild and why you should consider us as your future guild members.

    Who are we?
    Location: Belgium (Europe)
    Age: 24 & 25
    Sex: 1 man & 1 woman
    Languages: English, Dutch
    Professions: Teacher(me) & Administration(gf)
    Activity: Active ~ Semi-Hardcore (weekends & evenings), we both have a day-job.
    Gaming experience: Many, many years.
    MMO experience: Many, many years.

    Introduction

Hi, we are a gaming couple, looking for a mature, active guild that doesn't include social drama. We both devote most of our free-time to gaming and we want to play cooperatively with a bunch of equal minded people.

Of course like most of you on this forum we will be playing Guild Wars 2 from the moment it launches and intent to play this for a very long period of time (read: many years). There is a high probability that we will be playing GW2 90% of the free time we spend on gaming.

We aim at having a fun time, a good laugh and loads of memorable moments with people devoted to playing GW2 as a way to spend (part of) their free time. This should include grouping for PvE and/or PvP content in every aspect of the game (dungeons, arenas, raids, quests, or any other kind of meeting the guild organizes and any content the game developers open up to us). We are also loyal guild members and expect all other fellow members to be likewise. Responsibility doesn't scare us away either.

If this sounds familiar, then we might be the guild members you seek. Please do continue reading.

What we look for in a guild?
    * Social: We love to communicate with our fellow guild members, get to know eachother, ingame & out.
    * Mature: We would prefer a guild that has only 18+ members, but if all members are reasonably mature we might be willing to make an exception.
    * Active: There should be a guild event (in any form) for every day, or at least some events each week.
    * Organisation: We want a guild that lists their events on a website, forum... or -if the game allows it- on an in-game message board/calendar. This way all members are always aware of the active and future events the guild organizes.
    * Fair Team Play: There shouldn't be anyone (not even guild management) that is favored in terms of gear, loot or group composition (a certain person that always gets to join where others don't have that luxury).

What we don't look for in a guild?
    * Social Drama: This is always our main concern when joining a guild. We want a guild that can avoid social drama and that is able to solve discussions & discords in a mature way. Also Guild management should assist in this matter, whenever needed.
    * Disorganization/Bad management: We like being early (or at least on time) & prepared for an organised event, we don't like waiting for those few people that are 30 minutes late every time.

Are you the guild we are looking for? Let us know and we'll get back to you ;-)

PS: We prefer a guild that has VoIP. If your guild doesn't have any VoIP, but you are planning to use voice-chat, let us know. We are willing to buy/rent and manage a VoIP channel for community sakes.

Very clear and informative. I'm not so sure if there are many guilds to choose from right now, but I'm sure there will be once we get closer to the actual release date. I think there's a lot of people looking for the same kind of things in a guild

Instead of describing what kind of guild we are, I'd rather invite you to read the charter, or our guild page here on these forums.

    Charter

Drop an app if your interested. Keep in mind we take the process pretty seriously. You will need to apply seperately. I think you will find though with strict recruitment standards we keep our player base mature and experienced.

And as always, you can catch us on Teamspeak as well.

    Take care.

    Freelancer, the charter says:

"Team Legacy is considered as a "competitive" PvP guild."
    and
"PvE is a facet the guild will also cover, although not with as much attention as PvP."

Does that mean that the European branch of TL is not as focused on being a '"competitive" PvP guild, and does more PvE?

Hello Justus (and your gf, lol!)

I am Bahayur, current Guild Officer of Ghosts of Ascalon.
We are welcoming any players that match exactly your descriptions, since we are a mature zero-drama community. We have more PvE and RP gamers than PvP in the moment, but I'm sure it will change a lot during play time.

Our big differential is that we are constructing the Guild from now, hoping that our bonds grow tighter a long war before launch. We have constant vent meetings, introduction forums and stuff like that.

Please feel free to browse the non-member area of our site: www.ghostsofascalon.com and, If you're interested, send us an application form to join the Guild, under "recruitment" button.

Looking forward to meet you and your gf!

    Hugs,

    Bahayur

I'm not sure what your asking, because we do not segregate our EU members into their own division alone.

"Competitive" means aiming to achieve rankings im tournament/pro play. In teamliquid.net we live, breathe, cheer on, participate, and promote the SC2 esports scene, in GW2 we center around the exact same philosophy at www.teamlegacy.net.

For example, our very own "djwheat" will be casting the upcoming pvp at PAX. Its in our blood, and we love the idea of promoting it as a sport.

Does this mean we ignore PvE? Of course not. When you have 100+ members they can't always all be participating in WvW or arena. A lot of us are PvE achievement whores too.

Hi Justus, welcome to Guild Wars 2 forums. Just a word about what you've written...

It sounds to me a bit like you've been stung by some other MMOs, particularly as to things like the division of gear. This is simply impossible in Guild Wars 2 (as it was in Guild Wars in fact), because of they way loot is distributed. You get your own drops. There's no one drop that everyone rolls on. Therefore there won't be ninja looters.

Guild Wars 2 is being designed as a game to equalize things generally. It will be harder to grief, for example. People will be able to steal neither kills nor nodes. So I think some of your concerns, at least, are unwarranted.

I'm also a member of the Ghosts of Ascalon. My wife will be joining sometime closer to game launch. We had our first meet and greet last night on vent, and it was quite nice. We're already an international community.

So far we have people from Europe, South American, North America and Australia. Nice group of people.

We are geared, so far, more to PVe than PvP, and though that will change (at least one person yesterday was taking about getting into competitive PVP with the guild and there was so interest), I expect the focus will be on immersion.

But I caution you not to try to play Guild Wars 2 as you have other games in the past. If you play to get to end game, you're likely to be disappointed since end game starts are level one, so to speak. It's not a game where you get to the end of the game to find fun stuff to do. It's not a game about leveling either.

Anyway, hope you find the right fit for your play style.

Not only is Deuces an aspiring guild for the upcoming mmo Guild Wars 2 we are a Blog and Fansite featuring all the new and exciting info as soon as its released.

If you too are looking for a guild to make friends, level up and reach that end game pve and pvp content then Deuces may be the guild for you.

Deuces is always looking for nice and experienced players to join our ranks. If you have a relaxed open minded personality you'll fit in perfectly. Its important to us that we enjoy the game and have fun while we play.

    History:

Deuces started earlier this year in the mmo Rift under a different name, we gathered up over 300 active members and leveled our way to end game content. Once we got there we became a semi hardcore raiding guild and we cleared all content up till patch 1.4.

We always knew rift was a filler for GW2 and now its getting closer and closer its time to put 100% of our efforts into our next venture.

We have made the website for the guild however every teeny tiny bit off guild wars 2 info is on there also making it a fan site community open for everyone. We are looking for guild members/admin/officers and also people interested in creating blogs for the GW2 community.

Deuces has a team speak server as well as a fully social group of people that still play Rift. The forums are very active and anyone is able to post there discussing anything and everything gw2 related.

Being a member of the guild allows you to post messages to other members as well as chatting in the Guild Chat forums.

Kaeyi the guild leader will also be making you tube videos regarding everything she loves about GW2. From leveling tips to pvp strategies and even her favorite dynamic events. If you want to get involved let us know!!

To visit and read all your favourite guild wars news as soon as its released or to join the guild go to:

www.deuces.shivtr.com we also have a twitter group @DeucesGuild. Follow that to hear when all new posts are made regarding GW2.
