I didn't like Paranormal Activity at all. In general, I find the documentary/handheld/shaky cam/let's-make-it-look-real style annoying.

I watch the Hostel movies as well; don't think I'd categorize them as horror. And I agree that The Ring was one of the last enjoyable good ones to come out. Do yourself a favor and watch The Cabin in the Woods, if you haven't already. Insidious was ok too, but nothing amazing.

Oh wow, I didn't even realize they made another one.

I admit I only watched the first one, and I didn't really like it. I'm just not really into scary/horror flicks at all. Most of the time I think they're really cheesy and boring.

The only movie in that genre I ever really enjoyed was 1408. It wasn't very scary, I just really enjoyed the story. Though they changed the ending in the DVD version, and I highly recommend watching the theatrical ending instead.

I saw the first 2 on Netflix and I had to know what happened next so I "rented" the 3rd on and it was cool. Creeped me out just right. can't wait for the 4th one. Oh if you like good spook movies check out "Cabin in the Woods" you won't be disappointed.

Eh. It was okay I guess. I'd rather play Silent Hill.

I'm pretty much in the same boat with Izzy. It's more about the writing than special effects. When you know that a door is gonna slam on someone that walks into a dark room or something weird is going to happen to idiot-B who winds up alone it becomes predictable and not fun.

I watched first two releases. First one is more adoring than second one. Its my personal opinion. 'Trois 3: The Escort' released in 2004 is also an touchy movie ever made over escorts.
