    Guidelines For Recruiting New Members

    1. No Spamming. Any kind of posts not directly relating to the recruitment of new members for a guild will either be moved, or deleted based on spam related content.

    2. Be respectful to other guilds, and members who respond to your call out.

    3. When creating a post for recruitment, be sure to include as much information as possible for potential recruits. Here is a guideline to follow; it doesn't have to be completely adhered to but should provide a guideline as to how your post should look:

    Guild Name

    Guild Age

    Member Count

List Professions In Search Of (If applicable)

    List Guild Alliances

    List Faction Affiliation

    Summary of Guild

    Website (If applicable)

Contact Info (In-game, or other preference)

For or Against Multiple Guild Membership

    4. If your Guild doesn't have a website, our forum offers groups where you can host your Guild related activities. Ask a mod or admin if you need help setting one up.

In addition to the information summed up by JohnnyV, I recommend adding the following as well:

Main Timezone/Region (where is the guild based/what timezone is the guild active in; if it's a large guild or a guild with subdivisions, there can be multiple timezones/regions).

Can I ask that with the advent of multiple guilds in GW2 that guilds mention whether they are for or against it?

I have had one guild say that it doesn't care, but another one stating that you must only be part of this guild in their opening page.

Just so you can go in knowing whether your dating or married to the guild...

    Hello,

I wanted to ask you, how often can/should a guild "bump up" it's recruitment thread?

    Thank you,
    Griautis

Your guild thread is entirely your own, you can post there as often as you want. I do however recommend writing something interesting every time you post (such as a status update of your guild). After all, a thread that consists largely of "Bump" posts isn't very appealing to potential new members...

[Edit] this is no longer accurate... see below!

As we get more and more guild threads in our guilds section, it becomes harder and harder for our forum members to find guilds suitable to their tastes. Some guilds already have very clear thread topics that clearly indicate, in addition to the guild name, what kind of guild they are PvP/PvE/WvW/PvX, if they are an RP/immersion guild, if they're hardcore or casual, possible age requirements, and what their main region of the world is (EU/US/US East Coast/Australia/etc). I would ask all guilds to please use a similar format for their thread topic. It's in your own interest... it helps suitable members find your thread faster, instead of just skipping it as they don't want to read them all.

    Example topics could be:
My Own Guild Name [Casual, PvX] [UK/Western EU] [21+]
    or
The World Leaders [Hardcore PvP] [Worldwide]

    Update:
Over the past weeks we've seen some guilds go wild with bumps of their recruitment thread... so much so that it started to border on spam wars. Because of that we have revised our opinion on recruitment thread updates, and we would like to ask everyone to restrict the recruitment thread bumps. We are working on some revised regulations for the recruitment section, but we don't have an ETA on that yet. In the meantime, please stick to this revised regulation. Thanks for your cooperation!

[Edit] see this thread for more information on time limited recruitment thread updates.

Hey centaur, I have re-posted in my own thread that [KISS] will be updating is information shortly. in the style as requested by the forum mods here. Can I advise that you add possibly the most important thing about being in a guild for guildwars 2, "Which server the guild would be on" I personally added it to start, though I think it wise for everyone to use it.

I hope u get an eta on the regulation,s spam wars are terrible i recently removed 10k+ post's from my own site.
    Cheers,

Agreed, the world that a guild will be on will get more important the closer we get to release. That is definitely useful into to add.
