I don't think there's anything that hard about making duels. However since you can make your own PVP matches, who said you can't make a 1 on 1 PVP match and test yourself against friends. Guild Wars 1 doesn't have dueling, but you can still go to a guild hall and 1v1 against someone else if you choose by making your own match.
Having to do it in open world, however, can be disruptive to other people who think it's annoying and stupid. That's why games like Rift give you an option to ignore requests for duels.
By all means, go fight one on one with your friends. I'm sure that option is already in the game. Why should it be called dueling? LOL

. Yes there are some low lvl gankings but if players don't fight back then they get player killing points (murder in AoC i guess) and they have to grind it off or else they might drop their gear if they die (so if u get PKed u shout in chat and pk hunters will be there in no time), and there is a buff blessing for low lvls that protects you from higher lvls PKing you ( as long as you dont hit back). The game is super grindy so there's a lot of pve going on. However I stopped playing due to NCSoft implementing online stores for game goods like enchants scrolls and potions to lvl faster (need to make revenues i understand that) but now the game turned into a pay to win system. So here I am considering to give this game a shot and although I was somehow disappointed with the lack of pvp content, the WvWvW seems to make up for it. If it works as i understand it, then I don't think it's gonna be an issue for me =) . And the fact that everyone gets to same lvl in WvWvW means pvp from the start and i don't have to grind to max lvl to play competitive I don't see why complain. But I am curious about those mini games that some of you mentioned, and if implemented in the future would be great. Hope to see you all in game and sorry for the wall of text, I tend to do that
