    That is actually one of the things holding me off WoW. I hate their art direction, it's way too cartoony for me. Also, it costs money to play which I don't like

    In other news: I still have no inclination to play PvP so I really don't care how they do it, they could remove it totally for all I care

    I'm glad they are losing the heroes sort of. Maybe they will add them later, but I would much rather play with other people instead of controlling multiple toons. Hero battles though, that was a great concept. I never got into them that much, I liked Team Arena better. Now there really is only random arena, which really is a grind for glad points. Guild Wars has a great concept of pvp = it isn't gear based so lowbies can actually compete with vets. With that idea, the competition won't run out. I can get good and start winning once I understand how the skills go together. How fun would open world pvp become with this balance? EPIC!

    I think WvWvW will be better since you can just go there whenever you want, like-minded people are bound to frequently participate, there should always be plenty of players. There also won't be a queue, or a downtime after you "win" because the matches are ongoing until they shift (correct if wrong). Sounds just right to me.

    i think WvWvW can't substitute gvgs,hero battles,random arenas...well i don't know what i am talking about yet,lets wait to know more about it....but i loved them so much,that's what keeped me interested on GW for so long,it won't be the same if those games were gone.

    Hero battles was a funny competitive game to play alone when i was bored,many many people loved it.






    Don't turn GW into a world of warcraft with bad pvp and good pve.

    There are 5v5 matches (and maybe bigger) in addition to WvWvW, you know From the wiki:

    Structured PvP is a Player versus Player mode which will allow competition on an even footing. There will be two primary modes of play; tournament and pick-up play.

    Tournament play will be similar to Guild Battles from the original Guild Wars, where pre-organized teams of five fight on a level playing field through bracketed tournament play. Pick-up play is hot-joinable using a system similar to many FPS games which allows individuals or groups to join a game based on map, available space, and other settings. It will have variable team sizes which can be different per server and may be larger than five versus five.

    A character used to enter structured PvP will retain race and profession. The character will be given a fixed maximum level, and all skills and items will be available without the need to unlock them first. Player statistics will be tracked and used to generate a player ranking.

    What both adorofrancesinhas and me are trying to say is that the structured PvP won't be a good enough filler for all the pvp structures from the original game even though anet claims it will. The best they can do and probably will is moba/DotA style of pvp but that is just so much different from all the GW pvp structures.

    Ah.

    I wasn't particularly attached to say, hero battles because I didn't enjoy that at all. I can see some niches getting ignored, like that one, but the rest it seems like should be covered.

    Is there anything that stands out as missing to you (other than a total lack of heroes period in GW2)?

    Well i also talked about GVG but we will have the 5v5 soo it must compensate i think....then we had the random/team arenas which might be on GW2,we had luxons vs kurzick which will be substituted by the WvWvW and the WvWvW must be a big improvement of that kind of game,then we had the HA which i enjoyed and i don't know if there will be one....




    Well i hope they keep that great kind of PVP diversity that we had,i loved it,specially the Hero Battles which were very competitive and were played alone,i loved it because it was solo player and competitive at the same time,not like random arenas...when HB ended with the update i stopped playing guild wars because i had nothing to do and i don't like PVE much,i like to play with people in a competitive way.







    Well but as i sayed,lets wait and see they will also create new kinds of PVP games and all that that can compensate the ones sacrificed.











    Oh i also wanted to give an idea to any Guild wars 2 producer that may see this forum,i think you should have a ranking system and the biggest rank on for example WvWvW would be a marshall and the marshall would make the plan of the battle for it's faction somehow(don't know how,written or drawing on the map,dunno),teams never had a plan in games like luxon vs kurzick,i think they needed it.

    I don't get why ppl want more pvp than WvWvW. I mean, regardless which PvP you play, you just fight other players. So 1 PvP mode should be enough.
