Last night we watched half of From Paris with Love. We gave it a shot because it was by the director of Taken. I'm all for dumb action but this move was too stupid to even finish. Travolta ruined every action sequence with his cartoon campy performance. Every line he spewed was an eyeroll-inducing embarrassment. I've seen a lot of shitty movies all the way through, but this is such a rare occurance that a performance was so bad I just couldn't give it my full 90 minutes.

I watched breaking dawn as well and I liked it a lot. It'd be long to explain why, so I'll just leave it at this.

I watched Season of the Witch last night, it was awful.

I must say that the greatest movie of the year for me was Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The plot was phenomenal, the CGI was scarily impressive, the action was mind blowing, and the animal behavior was accurate. Which is saying something coming from an organismal biologist. I laughed, i cried, and i got pumpeded. All within the span of one movie. I'd highly recommend watching it.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was better than the first one imo. There is a lot less action in it than the first one but when it does to get to the action oh dear lord is it epic!

Begginers (2010). Nice, Charming little flick. Christopher Plummer was amazing in it. It's nothing special, but it was charming and delighted me.

    Before that one I saw:

Drive (2011). Holy crap! For a second I thought that "The tree of Life" could not be beaten out of my top list of 2011, but boy was I wrong. Amazing performances, awesome pacing and fantastic use of music... winner!
