    HELP System Requirments Question!

ok so im a little bit confused apparently my specs can run this game above the minimum requirments. yet i have to play the game on low settings and even then my fps dips below 20 in some taxing "beautiful" areas.

    processor: AMD Athlon II
    gfx card: Radeon HD 5870
    Ram: 4GB
    HDD: 465 GB

im not so good with listing pc specs or anything related but i think that should be all the necessary information if not please let me know i want to solve this issue

maybe i need a better card... maybe i need 8 GB of ram. i just dont know!

the game runs so shitty and according to the system requirment test it shouldnt be with my hardware..

any help will be greatly appreciated!

Your CPU looks like it could be what's bottle necking it. You didn't mention your clock speed but anything below 3Ghz (in a dual core system) seems to have trouble running Guild Wars 2.

What graphics settings are you running on? If you turn them all to low you will definitely have better performance.

^yep. as of yet i am to see an older generation dual core run the game good. athlon II = bottleneck of the system. cousin has that cpu and it maxes out usage everytime.

What power supply do you have and how long have you had it? Power supplies put out less juice as they wear and age and if your system is starving for power it won't perform so well. And just an observation but that is a pretty power hungry video card. I'm not saying it definitely is the power supply because any number of computer components can go bad, but that system shouldn't be dipping below 20 on low settings that much I'm sure of.

Also, what graphics driver are you using? It might be worth it to check if the graphics driver is the problem. I'd suggest you download the newest stable driver for your graphics card from the amd website and install it. To install a new graphics driver you'll want to follow these steps:

    1. Uninstall the AMD Drivers if you have them installed. You can uninstall them through an option under the Catalyst Control Center entry in the Start Panel or you can uninstall it through the Add/Remove Programs feature in the Control Panel.

    2. Download and install the free version of Driver Fusion.

    3. Restart the computer and before windows starts to load hit the F8 key to go into Safe Mode.

    4. Log in under safe mode and run driver fusion to remove all traces of remaining graphics drivers, use the smart removal option. Also be sure to not let the program install any search tools or unneeded software, since its a free program it gets some revenue by installing spam software which can be avoided if you de-select the check boxes for them.

    5. Restart the computer and let it boot normally.

    6. Install the AMD driver you downloaded.

    7. Reboot one last time.

    8. Enter game to check if there's any improvement
