Oh, and if they did put in mounts it should only be for asthetic purposes only... like us transforming into dogs in the Sylvari questline.

Waypoints are nice but gathering still sucks without a good speed booster. Waypoints only help if you have already explored the area also.
As far as making the world feel bigger and running being pleasurable, those are opinions and could still be done with mounts in the game. It would be your choice not to use one.
I don't care what anyone says, waypoints are not a replacement for mounts. A replacement for flight paths, definitely. But general point A-B travel or while searching for gathering nodes/meaningful events? Hell no.
