Based on the information I have now, I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this... I can only hope that the ArenaNet devs can use those dumps to determine the cause...
At least thank you for trying to help, i don't know either why the errorlog isn't giving the full information but perhaps ArenaNet can do something eventually.

I've had them all over the place, in The Grove, Caledon Forest. Brisban Wildlands, and even the WvWvW Eternal Battlegrounds. But mostly in the WvWvW Eternal Battlegrounds i've noticed. I only have one character at the moment so i can't confirm whether or not it's only on one character but if that's true i'd be very dissapointed since i don't feel like creating a new char because of these silly crashes.

Yeah it is a pain. I just made a default Asura and tried it out in first area. It could happen I guess If i keep playing. If I find a fix i'll let you know

    Sure, same here!

Hey man, just letting you know the client update today fixed mine, so try it now if you haven't already!

    Hey,
I'm having the same issue with serious error. I've been having it since the last weekend beta. I was hoping that once I received the actual discs after release I could reinstall and not have the issue any longer. That isn't the case. I uninstalled and began to reinstall with discs only to find that I cannot even finish installing without getting the errors and now I can't even play the game. This is what I get on my crash report:

    *--> Crash <--*
Fatal Error: Fatal disk-error (23) on read
    App: Gw2.exe
    Pid: 5372
    Cmdline:
    BaseAddr: 00400000
    ProgramId: 101
    Build: 15377
    When: 2012-09-01T04:23:48Z 2012-09-01T00:23:48-04:00
    Uptime: 0 days 0:00:16
    Flags: 0
    ......................
    *--> Error Logs <--*
Disk read failed with error 23 (incomplete): file 'C:\Users\comp\Desktop\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.dat'
Disk read failed (23): file 'C:\Users\comp\Desktop\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.dat'

These errors are the same as before getting the discs.

I have updated all drivers, tried moving to different locations, renaming files, everything I've found online on how to fix this and nothing has worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That indicates a problem with your memory.
Download and run memtest and proceed to buy new ram after the test shows the memory is faulty.

I bet you also get long freezes and the game seems unresponsive at times.
That means the game could not access data on your drive. (read error)
That doesn't necessarily means the drive is bad, though that may be the case. You need to download a SMART reading utility and run it to see if the drive is working OK.

in my case I had similar issues, after reading the SMART report I saw errors that indicated the connection with the drive was inconsistent.
Changing the drive to its own SATA slot and securing the cabling eliminated the problem.

Thank you skyliner for the info. I used two different SMART programs and both stated the same errors as current pending sector count and offline uncorrectable sector count. From what I was told, testing the game with an external drive to see if it works will further confirm the issue and then I would just have to get a new drive. Either way, I finally, at least I think, know what the problem is and I can fix it so I can get back to enjoying the game! Thanks again skyliner!

    Try this:

Create a new shortcut to the GW2.exe (or copy the existing shortcut).
Right-click on that shortcut, select Properties, and in the Target field,
behind the "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe" (or whatever command is there), add -repair (outside of the quotes). So it would become:

    "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe" -repair

Run that (and make sure that you have plenty of space available on your drive!)

Also, you may want to run a disk check on your C drive, to ensure that the problem isn't that the harddisk itself has some bad sectors...

    The drive has bad sectors:

Those two errors together are indicative the drive has several unrecoverable bad sectors.

A very high number on the uncorrectable sector count is an indicative that the drive surface is deteriorated and possible further data loss may occur.
Daosha: Post the SMART results. You might have to get a new drive.
