    Error log......

    Greetings,

I've decided to post my crash log hoping that someone might see something that i fail to notice as my game keeps giving so many different crashes & blue screens.

I have updated all the drivers (tried with at least 5 different versions for graphic card - new, old, beta, whql, developer's, tweakforce), tested my hardware (discs, memory, gpu, used 3dmark11, furmark, occt, everything is clear of errors) but I'm running out of ideas here. Most of my hardware is pretty much recently bought. Windows are freshly installed and everything is up to date. I've also used the repair option but everything was veryfied and no errors were found.

    I've got:

    Intel Q6600 2,4 GhZ
    4 GB Ram
    Win 7 Professional x64
    PSU: Corsair CX600 (600W)
Gainward Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti with 1024 MB GDDR5

All the voltages and temperatures show normal with Hardware Monitor.

Feel free to ask any additional questions and thx in advance for any help offered.

Update: i decided to put another video card just to be sure (my current is brand new while the one i inserted is 8400 GS several years old) and it worked without crashing the whole morning (3-4 hours). Barely 25 FPS on lowest settings but no crashing whatsoever while it was impossible to play that long with the main card.

The only thing i can think of is numerous forum posts made by nvidia card users, there has to be a catch somewhere. My Gainward GTX 550 Ti GS is a factory overclocked card clock is set on 1000 MhZ while they usually have 900. I even downclocked it to 900 MhZ but it still crashed, it just took a bit longer. Maybe there's connection between factory OC nvidia's and GW2 crashes ? Just a wild guess and a long shot tho, that's what you do when you're desperate. :-)

What nvidia driver version were you running on that GTX 550 Ti?

    Greetings Centaur,

I tried 296.10, 305.67 (developer driver), 304.79 (beta), 305.67 (tweakforce - modified, I'm sure you know what I speak of :-)), 306.02 (latest beta). Had crashes with all of 'em. I've had enough of it so i just went to my vendor and gave the card back for testing, until I get it back (or a new one instead of it) I'll use AMD Radeon 3850 HD which i "borrowed" from work. :-)

Works like a charm with ATI 3850, played the whole evening without crashes. Basically it works with old cards while the new one crashes all the time. :-)

Lets hope the guys who test the card will manage to "provoke" the errors cause it often ends up that their "tests" pass successfully. :-)

Update: my nvidia was put to a 20 hours heavy load stress test and turns out to work like a charm as well. In the meantime i found out some 3-years-old post about nvidia driver package features that caused bugs and memory leaks for gamers and since its the only thing i haven't done i decided to remove every trace of nvidia driver from my computer and install display driver ONLY, without 3d vision stuff, HD audio, Physics, etc and last night it worked for hours without crashing. If this problem is solved (can't say after only one evening of clear gaming but it sure looks like it) then it means that some of nvidia's driver components is slaughtering games, especially GW2 and from what I've seen its mostly nvidia users with these crashes and problems.

P.S. the reason why on 8400 GS it worked well is probably because its so ancient that it doesn't even have the ability to use all these nvidia features or something. :-)

I *did* find one thing on the official forums that appears to cause instability issues/crashes:

This is actually a fairly common issue that players have been experiencing due to certain configurations in the Nvidia Control Panel. We suggest adjusting your Anti-Aliasing settings in the Nvidia Control Panel. Please try the steps below to make these changes:

    1. Right click on the desktop.
    2. Select NVIDIA control panel.
    3. Select Manage 3D Settings.
    4. Verify the “Antialiasing – Mode” is set to Application-controlled / or click Restore.
    5. Click OK.

Once completed, please try launching Guild Wars 2 again.

Its set that way by default.

I just got another crash to desktop after 2 hours of playing with "GW2.exe has stopped working" message. Its a brand new win 7 x64 installation from yesterday, no additional useless software just drivers up to date (display driver only, no additional nvidia stuff) and windows updates.

Windows event viewer says this (pretty much the same as before):
